LOL- That would stink being stuck that close to the exit- they would probably get mad if you hopped thru the 2-3 boats between you and the exit.

...actually, there was only ONE boat in front of us...after about 5 minutes or so, one of the CM's at the exit reached for their boat and pulled it closer to the platform so that the passengers could disembark....so close and yet so far.....!

Geesh - they didn't give us that after we were stuck for 15+ minutes on the the outside track on EE. Not that I'd ever go back on that ride, though.

hi there, I love this thread, because I absolutely am nuts about the details at WDW. here's one i took during my last visit.

It's a painting at the Haunted Mansion. It's after the stretch room but before you get on the ride. The ride broke down for like twenty minutes and I was staring at the portrait so long I finally too a picture!

After the stretch room and before the ride.... where you line up to enter the doombuggies? Wow, in all these years I have never noticed *anything* in that room, it's always so dark. Good catch!

That's because those portraits used to be on the ride, as you rode through the hallway. They used to have eyes that followed you. They moved some of the paintings to the load area, and left some of them in the hallway, but changed the hallway. They added "windows" to one side of the hallway (which is why they moved the paintings from there). The lighting flashes in the windows and the paintings that are left on the other side of the hallway change with the lightning flashes. This effect has been used for years at Disneyland and was just added during the WDW HM rehab last year.
