Destination Imagination: UDATE The are going to Globals!

Does anyone have any kids in Destination Imagination? A close family friend is going to the the States here in Mass. They did really well in the main challenge but kinda froze in the Instant Challenge( 6 place out of 10 teams) but they still got 2nd place overall. They have been working every night on their bag o instant challenges, so hopefully by next week, they will be ready.... Has anyone gone to the Worlds?


Update! The got first at States..... The are going to the Global finals.......anyone else going to be there? I wanna go Anyone in Knoxville TN want a vister! just kidding!

DI is really a big deal in our school district. Historically, our school district has sent many teams to worlds, so I know people who have gone on to Worlds, just haven't had the oportunity to experience it myself.

My DD's team went to state last year, but placed 3rd there, so did not go to Worlds. This year, (she is now in the middle-school level), their team would have gone to state if they would have scored .09 points higher. Yep - they needed 9/100's more points to go on. The team was pretty bummed, but the rules are the rules, and that's that. Her team from last year (still in the elementary level) smoked their main challenge, and moved on to state again. DD is kind of hoping that she will be back with that team next year, as most of them are moving up to middle school.

I'll stop rambling...good luck to your friend's team. Going to state was an awesome experience for our family. I hope they have a great time!

My kids do Odyssey of the mind...DI was an off shoot of OM about 6 years ago. They both are wonderful programs! We have been to Worlds...& my kids are going again this year! Good luck to ALL competing!
