Anybody know how much it will cost me to order my kids a "moose" and "campfire smores" desserts at LeCellier? I have noticed that they are no longer on the kids meal (dessert listed for kids is ice cream or fruit). I have been told that you may still order them for children, but there is an additional charge. Anybody on the DDP been recently that can tell me how much they were charged? Thanks!

Allearsnet shows the cost of both of these desserts as $4.99 from the adult menu. That is the price I'd expect to pay.

Now I was told there is only a small surcharge to order them. I suppose because kids are entitled to one dessert included on the DDP and if they choose not to have the childs dessert, you will be charged the "difference" over and above the DDP. I can see paying half or so, but doesn't it seem silly to have to pay full price when we're not ordering the deesert included? Ah, that's the DDP though, love it  , or hate it  . If I have to pay $10 for two desserts, they most likely won't finish...so be it! :sad2: Thanks for responding :)

I think the $4.99 on Allears is for lunch. I don't remember exactly, but I think they were more than that at dinner. There was s child sitting next to us on the DDP and when dessert came he got fruit and mom and dad both got the "moose" Mom and child switched. That's a possibility. My DD had the "moose" it was excellent!

I'm not sure about the surcharge. We don't do the dining plan. When we were there we ordered our niece a child's meal and then the additional dessert. The dessert was full price.

Those are the prices listed on allears for both lunch and dinner. They could be incorrect, but allears seems to be pretty reliable.

Okay, okay...I give in. :sad2: I suspect it will cost me the full price of $4.99 each for two desserts for my kids on the DDP when ordering a LeCellier. After all, this will be the first trip for my DS8 and DS6 and what's an extra $10?:rolleyes1 I think the memories of those desserts will last longer than the "just another make your own sundae memory" from every other restaurant at WDW. Thanks to those who replied!:thumbsup2

Maybe you can just give them your dessert :lmao: ??

I actually was TOO full to even taste my dessert at Le Cellier. It was sorbet. Can you get those "fun" desserts on DDP anyway?

Yes, you can still order these desserts on the DDP but only for an adult credit. I had thought about "trading desserts" with them. DH would be fine with the trade as he is an advid ice cream finatic! :rolleyes1 (I believe kids receive a small sundae with their meals) I sort of was looking forward to trying the creme brulie sampler. Your right though. I'm not a huge eater so I may be too full to appreciate it anyway.

You know I can't even remember what DH got for his dessert - he did eat it. May have been that Moosehead Ale I got. Boy ... one little drink, straight to my head! Le Cellier is such a great place to eat. And it seemed quieter than other restaurants too!

It's amazing how hard it is to get a ressie there. I was glad I had no problem in Nov 2006 -- people were walking up to the hostess and she said they were booked up for three months!

I hope you have a wonderful time! :thumbsup2

NEVER too full for the delicious creme brulee!

Last summer, DS got a moose thing. I don't remember paying for it, but we had a seperate bill for wine, so we may have paid it.

Oh That is a great Idea, I wanted to get a special desert for my daughter too! by the time I'm done eating, although I am a huge desert fan, I usually don't have much room left in the tummy. Do you think the waitperson would even bring it to her and bring me the kids desert? It would be extra special delivered to her instead of me or my husband....

Sure, why not? If you have a adult DDP credit and a child's DDP credit, what does the waiter care who gets what? Besides, they know you could easily just swap them as soon as the waiter leaves anyhow. Don't even bat an eye about it! I'm sure that sort of thing happens all the time!;)
