Desserts For Kids at CS?

Ok, I have read a ton on this forum and I can't find the answer. What desserts can the kids get with their kids meals at CS restaurants? Can they only get the sugar free jello or applesauce? Or can they get the chocolate cake or brownie that adults can get? Thanks for any help! ;)

At most places it is just the jello. At Sunshine Seasons in Epcot they told us our DS's could get a rice krispy treat or brownie from the bakery area or stick with the jello. Although we were allowed to substitute an adult dessert for the jello (I explained my concern about kids eating nutrasweet to the cashier and never had a problem) recent reports suggest that this is no longer allowed:sad1:

Flame Tree BBQ and Tusker house do not allow subsititutions for the jello. As I tried to explain why we did not give our children nutrasweet they simply stated that those are the new rules.

We just returned and my kids only had jello once (Pinnochio's at MK). I have to say that it was disgusting. I eat sugar free Jello all of the time and love it. This was "gelatin snack" and not Jello brand. It was rubbery on the inside and had a liquid running on the outside. So disgusting. My husband and I gave our desserts to our kids at every CS meal. They got grapes otherwise.

Hi
I just was at Sunshine Seasons in December. Since I'm taking my DGD 4 in August and knew about the jello for dessert, I said to the cashier that it's a shame that kids only could get jello for dessert at most counter service places. He said that kids could choose from any dessert at Sunshine Seasons, meaning the adult desserts. He pointed to the counter with all the bakery desserts. I guess it really depends on what cashier you get. He would've let my DGD have anything.

It sounds like that starting in January, Disney is requiring the CMs (cashiers) to be consistent across the board with "official" Disney DDP policies and are doing this by holding the actual CMs accountable for what they allow.

Are grapes a common choice for a kids meal CS dessert?

Is all of the jello sugar-free that is available with a kids meal?

You are allowed 2 choices from grapes, applesauce, and carrots (most places you could subsitute FF or those mickey cheese-its). For dessert they are only offering SF jello.

At Cosmic Rays they let kids have the brownie (also sugar free) or the jello.\
This was Jan9th. At Mara they could have any dessert. Pizza Planet had any dessert. Wolfgang Puck Express they could have cookies but no creme brulee.

Thanks for all the info everyone! I guess I will just ask at every place since they each seem to have their own rules.
