Hi!

I'm thinking of booing the dessert party for next year; however, I've hear it's really busy.

Is it worth doing?

And does to give you a good view of wishes etc?

Thank you :-)

Hey there!

I'm sure you'll get lots of different answers regarding the dessert Party. I'll be the first :)

Let's say you have a decent view of the fireworks. If you plan well, you get can a better view, in my opinion.

As far as desserts are concern, after all, it's the main thing here, they were way too sweet for us and trust me, we are dessert lovers. After one decent plate, we had enough.

All in all, we glad we did it once, but we won't do it again. We'd rather buy some treats on Main Street U.S.A., get a good spot and enjoy the evening for a few dollars only...

I've been checking every week for availability in October with no luck. Do they reserve any spots for day of?

They will take walk ups, but your chances that there will be a spot available are slim to none. Just keep checking online for availability, especially at 5 days out (the cancellation window for no penalty for people to cancel).

I would also check out the 45 day before mark, or a few days before that point. I believe that is some sort of cancellation deadline for packages to be paid in full. I didn't make ADRs for this when they first popped up, thinking we wouldn't do it. Well, now we made it work and I'm looking.

Also, keep a browser tab open for that ADR online and check a few times a day. You never know!

As for the experience itself, we did it 3 years ago and I really enjoyed it. I would eat a light dinner that night. I enjoyed not having people constantly bumping into me or crowding into the spot I had waited in for an hour that they had just strolled up to 5 minutes earlier. When we went, there was a PP photographer there and we got what is still one of my favorite family pictures from that trip. All in all, a good experience that I may not repeat every trip but since we haven't been back since then, it's worth repeating, to my family at least.

However, if I don't score an ADR, I can content myself with a funnel cake or Mickey bar and stand on Main Street to watch. We'll be closer to leaving that way ;)
