Dessert party

OMG-- *now* it makes sense. Duh. Like I haven't planned a thousand trips to know about park days as a package instead of an individual day.

So sorry, Nikishia.

Hiding my head in embarrassment.

I'm not so sure that's the case, Nikisha421.

No matter what, you have to pay the site fee and the cost per person no matter what.

My question was, is it cost efficient to ask your guests to use a day's park admission-- Disney just raised this-- of $82 per person on a day when most of the day is going to be spent at a ceremony and reception.

For me, that's a no. I believe it's more cost efficient- and nicer to your guests- to just pay the $13 viewing fee if the DP is on the day of your wedding.

I guess the time of the wedding and reception play into this too- if the reception is over at 2 and the DP is at 9, that's seven hours your guests need to find something to do. Using a park admission makes sense.
This is us :D

I'm wondering if any of you can clear this up for me. I was reading that you have to pay for transportation for your guests in order to get to the DP, but than somewhere else said that you can just have an event guide escort you. What have your experiences been?

This is a good question. I asked mt coordinator if we had to pay for the bus transportation even if we spent the day at the park and she said yes. Lame, I'm hoping she didn't understand what my question was and we really don't have to pay a useless $500.

You have to pay for transportation if you are wearing your wedding dress to the DP. My DP is replacing our rehearsal dinner so we are having event guides meet us at both entrances to the park to bring our guests in because I won't be wearing my wedding dress. HTH

The frustrations of dealing with DFTW! Once again, it clearly depends on who you talk to. We are having our DP on our wedding night and I will be wearing my dress. My wedding consultant informed me that we do NOT need transportation.

Whether or not you are required to hire transportation for a dessert party in Epcot depends on the location of the party. UK, France and sometimes Morocco are usually OKed to walk in with a guide. Italy is considered too far from the entrance so they make you take transportation backstage to the closer gate.

It depends on your preference and group size. My favorite views are the ones from Italy Plaza (which has a 100-guest minimum) and UK Pubside (which has a 10-guest maximum). I loved UK Lochside (20-person minimum) too, but sometimes it can get smokey if the wind shifts. Italy West Plaza would be a good stand-in for Italy Plaza and has a minimum of only 50 (and I have seen them allow smaller groups occasionally).

Morocco and the France Pavilions also have their fans, so it really does come down to preference (well, OK, and group size!).

LOL so they pretty much all rock? :D
Our group should be about 30 people :D I'd prefer waterside, but its definitely not a deal breaker if its not :D

We're having our DP after our reception. Our reception is at ADH. Our DP is at Rue de France (lower French pavilion). I asked our consultant (not our coordinator) if our guests who wanted a "smoke break" could choose to walk, while we are intending to have a "Party Bus" for those who can't/don't want to walk.

She said that we needed to have a transport for all of our guests.
