Does anyone have any more feedback on the limited DP options?

Are Fridays and Saturdays out all together immediately, or is it from a certain contracting date?

Any plans to abolish Wednesday nights? Please say no!! I only have 2 months to go til I contract and if I just miss it I'll be super gutted!

People tell me that the inital DFTW Escape call is just for the basic ceremony and DP's are arranged later, how soon will they let me do this??

Escape brides can't book their DP's until 8 months out from the date, not sure about Wishes brides and I can't remember which you are right now! sorry!...

My wedding is 5/1/09, my DP can be booked (hopefully) on 9/2 (9/1, but it's a bank holiday here in the US)

As soon as I hear from Tanis I will let you know what she says..I can only go on the DIS at lunch from work (which is noon to 1:30 NY time) or after 5:30, so if I hear from her by 1:30, I'll post then, othewise it won't be until 5:30....

If anyone else knows anything and can post earlier for all of us, that would be great!

I didn't realise that it was 8 months - I hate how we have to wait to book everything!

Next I'll find out I can't book the MK photoshoot until 3 months out Actually, really, when can I do this

You don't have long to go know til you can get your DP booked in then, I won't be able to rest easy until everything is booked!

My VR is on April 8th 2009 (Wednesday before Easter) at Sea Breeze Point and I'm having a Wishes DP at Sago Cay Pointe that night. I originally wanted an Illuminations DP but I was told that all sites at World Showcase were blocked during that time. This also applied to Fantasmic DPs. I was initially very disappointed about this, but I am very happy now as the site looks beautiful and the menus are great!

My VR was booked a year out, but my DP couldn't be booked until August 8th (eight months out).

Here are the pics Tanis sent me. DH and I are going to visit Sago Cay Pointe when we are at WDW next month. I'm hoping that we get to see the Electric Water Pagaent as well as Wishes at our DP!

I also have a copy of the Wishes DP menus. pm me if you want me to send you a copy!

Ok, now I'm REALLY confused!!!

CarolAnn-If Tanis is your coordinator as mine as well, you would think she would know about the Illuminations DP's...hmmm. But when I spoke with her yesterday she didn't.

At least there is another option! I'd be happy with a Wishes DP as well for sure...

Will still let you all know what Tanis says when I hear from her..

I haven't visited the site yet, but if you look at the middle pic I posted above, the marina would be to the left. If you were standing at the marina the Sago Cay Building would be to your left. Here is a map of the GF to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

We're definitely going to look at the site at the end of September and I'm going to take lots more pics then.

We will only have 12 in our group, so if we can't get an Epcot site, I guess it depends if we're allowed this small amount of us at Sago Cay.

I gotta have me a dessert party somewhere and I'm concerned that Fantasmic would be a poor view from up at the back!!

I think the minimum number for Sago Cay Pointe is 10. The food and beverage minimum is $500 and there is no site fee! There is a fee for having the Wishes music piped in, I think its about $700. Fantasmic is a lot more expensive I think.

Our reception dinner is going to be at Narcoosees and we can just walk over to Sago Cay Pointe at a leisurely pace for the DP, which will last 1 hour and 30 minutes as opposed to one hour for Illuminations DPs.

Well.....I don't know ladies....

I just heard back from Tanis but she never got an answer today so unfortunately I have no answers in regards to the DP issue at Epcot for April/May Fridays/Saturdays...

This makes me very going into the weekend.....sigh

She said she would most likely know something on Monday...

She also mentioned the DP option at Sago Cay...but I don't know. For me, without the music it's not really the same and $800 to pipe it in...ouch!
She mentioned other options and said it would all work out...but I really don't know what other options there are for a group of 20 in an Escape wedding!

I'm really not very happy now..sorry, just venting a bit I guess.

Just an update for you all...

Tanis still hasn't heard yet about the dessert parties on Fri/Sat in April/May....I hope to hear either way sometime within the next week. If I haven't heard by Sept. 2, I will update my PJ as something will be booked that day! Just not sure what yet!

If anyone hears anything in the meantime, let us know! I do know that some of the April brides couldn't have their DP's because of timing with April crowds due to Easter/Spring Break and Flower and Garden Festival...but not sure about May yet or why etc....

Ok, all....Tanis finally got an answer from her Epcot peeps...

I am ok with my date of Friday May 1 for Epcot for the DP....basically how she explained it to me was because of high level crowds in April due to the trifecta of Easter, school break AND Flower and Garden Festival, that is why the weekends in April are blocked. However, I'm not sure about midweek DP's...

What I would say to any of you out there planning a DP in April, if you can reschedule it for another night say for a meetup thing or goodbye thing (which I was going to do if I couldn't do the Friday) then at least you get to have your Illuminations (or Fantasmic!) DP...

If you're in May...it seems like you should be ok, but until your WC checks with Epcot, you won't know for sure. So, it doesn't seem to be any cut and dry "all Friday and Saturdays for April and May are blocked..."

Sorry it took me so long to find out, but I wanted to let you all know the news I found out yesterday when Tanis called me..

Can anyone else confirm this?

Say it isn't so I've been dreaming of a DP since day 1!

Hi sorry to confuse everyone I just re read the email and what it says is that additional entertainment is no longer available for outdoor events (I wanted to extend the DP and have dancing there). My bad, I misunderstood.

I am hoping to have a dessert party at either sago cay or the GF marina so that hopefully when the fireworks are over, we can go back into the Whitehall room for dancing until midnightish. Does anyone know if this is possible?
