Dessert only at Artist Point?

Does anyone know if it's possible to order dessert only at Artist Point, or would that be frowned upon? DH and I went during our honeymoon and we definitely want the berry cobbler again (yum!) but we're not sure how many sit-downs our DD will be able to get through (she's going to be almost 8 mos. when we go and, well, she can make it through dinner at McDonald's :rolleyes1 ).

Anyone know? Maybe we'll just go for the whole dinner and see how Meredith does, but if we run out of time or something I NEED that berry cobbler, esp. since we're staying at the WL.

Thanks!

we were there last week with our 16mo old/ 5yr/8yr children. we took the earliest seating...5pm. there were lots of other families there & even one european family who let their little one crawl around their feet while they ate.

don't worry about brining the baby at all.

You're going to get differing views on this one since there was already a recent thread on this in relation to the Yachtsman Steakhouse...

This is my opinion: Are you spending money there? Yes. Are you a WDW guest? Yes.
Then I see absolutely nothing wrong with making a PS for dessert, particularly since you're a guest at the WL!

I've noticed that many people apply different standards of etiquette to restaurants at WDW versus the "real world." I don't believe that should be the case. If you feel comfortable going to a nice restaurant in your home town just for the dessert, then Disney should be no different.

My DH and I often go to a particular high-end restaurant (the only AAA 5-Star one in our area) where we live after an evening at the Symphony or theater. Sometimes we eat dinner and sometimes we just get dessert and coffee or wine (since their desserts are to DIE FOR!). We have always been welcomed and NO ONE has EVER taken issue with our simply ordering dessert.

So I would say yes, enjoy yourself at Artist's Point and don't worry about just ordering dessert.

Have fun!

We had dinner there Christmas Day and our server said many people come just for their signature berry cobbler. I too am a big fan! Its so good. We plan to go in October just for that dessert. Enjoy! :cool1:

I see no problem with ordering dessert only. Or could you order in the lounge next door?

Thanks so much, everyone! I guess we'll just need to review our schedule and budget one more time--sounds like it's fine either way at Artist Point. DH and I went so crazy on our honeymoon (V&A, Artist Point, Flying Fish, California Grill AND Citricos) and have to reign it in a bit this time around. We still can't wait, though! This is us lately: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thanks again!

I think it's perfectly fine, but beware that other places have told customers that they must be ordering a meal in order to be seated, this happened to my mom and sister at California Grill late one night. They were able to order drinks and desserts at the bar, but not allowed to be seated at a table - this with a PS. So each restaurant will have diff guidelines, but just be prepared in case =)
