Designated Survivor

This is the LAST REMAINING leader of the US and he's strolling off the elevator alone.
I'm not saying there aren't problems with the show, but I thought I remember a secret service person on the elevator and then others in the hallway.

I don't think this is a realistic show, but decent (not great) entertainment so far.

I went back because this was one of the (smaller) things that bugged me and you're right there was one on the elevator- it was when he and his wife were outside on the portico and there wasn't an agent or marine in sight. Then at the very end he's lone in a hall that doesn't look like the residence (but it could have been).

I just watched the latest episode, and am still loving it! I don't expect perfect details. To me, it's really about the characters' moral struggles with their new responsibilities.

The Secret Service actually does not go up to the residence. In the first episode, there was a moment where he walked out of the bedroom and there was an agent standing there. Um, no. The Secret Service stay out of there.

Me too. It's entertainment, not a documentary. Heck, most TV shows have plot holes so big you can drive a truck through them, but you go with it.

See I could even buy it if they said considering the circumstances and that you are the ONLY person in the line of succession left we aren't leaving your side and will have 5 agents at your door or even in the oval. That would be plausible, it's just the blasé no,emergency here environment I don't get.

More importantly where are all the new congressionals???? Why are we still operating with only 2 and one of them is chilling at home with the press on their lawns instead of highly guarded?

Just watched and I'm liking the Congresswoman less and less!

I also feel so bad for the FBI director! I really want him to tell the president before he appoints the guy VP, but I get that his job is to wonder exactly how far up it went and keep his mouth shut 'til he knows. I can't imagine being in his place.

And the personal bombshell with the older kid - just...yikes!

I'm enjoying the Maggie Q storyline as it doesn't feel as predictable as the rest of the show.

I'm still enjoying this show. I've got my dad watching it too, so it's nice to be able to talk about it after you watch it. (Poor guy had to hear me talk about Castle for 8 years - he never watched it, but he knew everything about it)

I don't want to quote the spoiler above but wow, that stuff was too much. And now we have to wait two weeks for the next episode!

I'm still entertained by it but they're starting to add too many bizarre story lines. Without spoiling it, I thought the last family one was too much. Enough already!

I thought about this thread last night after that episode! Woah....and we have to wait until March to find out what happened!

We should wait for people to catch up and discuss what we think happened at the end of last night's episode.

I was thinking of this thread too last night as I watched. I can't believe we have to wait until March.

Not the President. Or if he was shot, it's a flesh wound. This is Sutherland's show...he ain't dead. If I were guessing, it's the Veep...they need to ditch him now and move on to figuring out the rest of the plot...the Veep isn't running this plot to take out the Capitol. There are some other nefarious characters behind him that we don't know about yet...and they can spend a LONG time on that. But, Veep has about outlived his usefulness. LOL.
