Design a ride for a WS country that doesn't have one!

Okay, I am not orginal - but I would still like to see this:

There was a boat-ride based attraction planned for Germany, a Rhine River Cruise, but while the building for the ride was built and the planned entrance area is still recognizable the ride itself was never constructed.

I would like it if they actually constructed the ride itself and just opened it up for Epcot's 25th! :teeth: But it is not likely.

Actually the Gondola ride from Italy was on the drawing board when Epcot was in planning stages but was slashed due to budget cuts! I believe several gondolas are moored in world showcase lagoon from the ride.

Same thing happened to a Germany boat ride down the Rhine River.

I beat you to it! :teeth: I posted about it a couple minutes before you did. :goodvibes

Any of you who have been to VENICE would never want a gondola ride...

the smell would make you :faint:

A lot of people say that but i've been before (end of August...it was HOT!) and I didn't notice any foul smell at all. I loved the gondola ride, it was so beautiful and relaxing. Not too romantic as I was with my parents but i'm hoping to take DH next year for a long weekend :)

Sorry you found it a smelly experience, did you go a long time ago? I've heard it was worse maybe 20-30 years ago. I honestly can say I didn't notice a bad smell. :confused3

In any case i'm sure it would smell great at Epcot :rotfl:

As a companion park to WS I would like to see a park called "Ancient World".

But in response to the OP, it would be neat to have a "Chariot ride" in Italy that magically takes you back to ancient Rome. Magic chariots that transport you ala Dinosaur back in time. Kind of a cross between POC and visual tricks used in 3-D films like ITTBAB will be used in the ride. Mild ride until the very end when the emperor discovers you and decides you're only fit for lion food and you are chased through the ancient Italian countryside to Pompeii only to be wisked back to the present (just in time) by the force from an erupting Mt. Vesuvius!

I was thinking of Japan; it was just the theme of my girl scout camp, and the kids just LOVED anything Godzilla. I don't know how much space is there, but something like a coaster for kids with that theme?

Okay here we go...

Bring back the 20,000 leagues under the sea boats and take off in the general vicinity of the UK, however you encounter the Loch ness monster (Isn't that a UK thing?). There's a bit of drama but you all make it safely back to the UK.
The end.

A log flume ride in Canada would be nice. It doesn't have to be a big thrill ride (maybe 1 big drop like Splash), but it could have a Canadian logging theme.

This isn't in the WS, but I hope that when Soarin's CA movie is rehabbed that the new movie will soar over scenes from the countries in Epcot.

Oh, I like the Canadian log flume...Epcot needs some water!
How about a trip through the desert in Morocco? It could be a dark ride with a simulator.

It would be cool if each country had a Soarin'. You could get the same fun experience in each country.

what about a roller coaster ride that is themed thru all the world showcase lands . Almost how rocking roller coaster is where you see all the cali landmarks, but you see landmarks from the countries. It could be based on a journey thru time when a clan of villians from those countries past try kidnapping you, and 2 the end of the ride you escape.

I'm not sure about that... if they can pipe in the smell of oranges to Soarin', or cakes to Philharmagic, then they could certainly pipe in the smell of raw sewage into a Venice gondola ride! :lmao:

I'm a fan of Germany, so I'd like to see a journey through Germanic mythology, based on Wagner's Ring operas, whereby you travel through the stories based on the Saga of the Volsung and there are gods :wizard: and mortals :wave2: and animals :bounce: and Valkyrie  and giant snakes  and big fires :furious: and really fat scary women in horned hats :joker: !

Funny, the only 2 rides in the WS are boat rides, on water ;)

I would love to see a magic carpet ride over Morocco. The sights, sounds and smells from an open air bazaar. I think it would be great.

I also liked the gondola idea for Italy.

My friend and I used to joke about how fun a "great wall of China" roller coaster would be. i don't know where they would have room and how exactly they would do it...but it sure seems fun to me!
In response to the Candian Log Flume Ride, I think it might be too much like "Dudley Do-Rights" at IOA by Universal.
I also think a France "Eiffel Tower Experience" would be neat. You could ride up the "eiffel tower" and see scenes depicting past and present French culture.

::yes:: I love the log flume idea!

As for the Soarin' idea, ITA! :thumbsup2 Now that Disney has developed the techonology, we could go "soarin" wherever we please! It would be great if it could be further developed into a Horizons-esque ride.......where you choose which country to go soarin' over! However, that would require a reworking of the hang-gliders as well, as each party would have to have their own. I'd still be just as happy with a general WS soarin'.

Gotta represent South America - not so much an attraction but rather the gathering point for all Disney tours. They'd give out brightly colored t-shirts, differentiated by tour, and then have a CM/tour guide lead out their group with a little flag, perhaps starting up several chants in the process. No eating places though, instead several groups would get together and then just take over the closest available restaurant in another pavilion.
