We have the Desert Inn booked for 5 nights, we love how close it is, and it had pretty good DIS'er reviews.. BUT then someone mentioned HOJO would be better, and now I CANNOT decide for the life of me, and the hubs says just whatever I think is best.. AHH! :scared:

Please help me decide!! :worship:

We are Dad, Mom, DD-9 and DS turning 4 during our trip! We are staying June 23-28.

I like the pool area at HOJO for afternoon break (if we decided to do this) but will it still be June Gloom-y? Is the closeness of Desert Inn better?

I'm so torn... Thanks in advance, you are all the best! :love1:

It's been 10 years since I stayed at Desert Inn, which wasn't a great experience, but I'm sure they've improved. However, I've stayed at HoJo twice and we like it more than Paradise Pier! We've stayed there twice for a week stay and booked the superior room. Sure, it cost's a bit more, but you can get great views of the parks from there. Nothing like waking up to a view of the Matterhorn. And your kids will LOVE the little waterpark there. It's not as big as the Courtyard, but with kids at that age, this is the better bet. As for the June Gloom, it will still be pretty warm or even blazing HOT in June. Coming back here a few times during the week will be a welcome respite.

Yes, it's definitely a farther walk...can't get any closer than Desert Inn. But it's still a shorter walk than Paradise Pier and even closer than some of the far rooms at DLH.

While I can't choose for you, I will always stay at HoJo if the price is good.

I've stayed at both and would be happy at either. But for your family I'd totally recommend Hojos for the pool. Your kids are the perfect age for it and they will love it. My DD just turned 9 and DS is almost 5. They love the Hojo pool! We've traveled to DL in June the past two summers, the 2nd week of June and in the afternoon the kids have used the pool for hours. The gloom burns off by afternoon. DI&S has an indoor pool and its humid in there and smells of chlorine pretty strongly.I'd rather not use it honestly.

The differnce in walk time btwn the two is about 5 minutes walking slowly. I know if I were to ask my kids which they would prefer they would say Hojo and the extra walk.

Beds at Hojo are way more comfy than the DI&S beds. Coffee is better too! Hojo has the keurigs. DI&S in room coffee was typical bad hotel room coffee.

I would choose Hojo without hesitation. Have stayed there over 30 times. When my kids were little, they loved the water play area. The pool is also very nice and in a separate location from the water play area. The beds are comfy, and the rooms are clean and spacious.

Okayyyyyyy, we did it! Just booked HOJO superior room, with Disney views and requested 6th or 7th floor!

Thanks so much for all the quick input. I love this board!:disrocks:

Now you're talking! That's a great rate anytime of year for HoJo's, and you'll love the park view. Now I'm jealous!!! I need to start planning a trip.
