Desert Inn and Suites

Anyone have a review of the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites? I just looked on their website and was shocked to see that the rates for the week we're planning on visiting next year is only $69 per night. It looks good online, it's about as close to Disneyland as you can get, and it has everything we are looking for (pool, breakfast).

Anyone stay there before, and how was it?

we have stayed there several times. It is nothing fancy but it is clean and so very convenient to DL. It is literally a 5 minute walk and can't be beat. The breakfast is very basic - pastries, piece of fruit, coffee, juice, etc. The pool is an indoor pool and quite small. All in all I do like this hotel and have reservations for next March.

Stayed their a few years back with my family...
it was great! Like mrsheppo said, nothing fancy, just kind of a typical hotel room, but the fact that it is literally right across the street from the entrance to DLR can't be beat! We never experienced any problems, it was always clean and the service was good.
That was one was one of the regular hotels on Harbor that we would stay in.
(we would rotate between Desert, Castle and one that had like a walk up counter in front that served food, like pizza and such...can't remember the name lol...all were great!)

DH has stayed at Desert Inn before and he really liked it. He also loved Hojos, but would stay at Desert Inn again over Hojos for the right rate.

Um, not wanting to spoil the party, but my daughter stayed there last month. She did NOT have anything good to say. The icing on the cake was that the toilet water from the room ABOVE THEM, leaked down and dripped into their bathroom. The toilet apparently overflowed and those people weren't there! EEEEEUUU!!!!!!!!!!!! And here's the kicker, they weren't even offered a move to another room!!!!

We have stayed at the Anaheim Desert Inn for our past 8 trips and are booked there again in November. They have served us well every time we have stayed. Nothing fancy. However, they provide all we need, are reasonable, very close to the park and clean. Rooms don't have a lot of frills like any of the resort hotels so if you are looking for something fancy you'd better head to another property.

We stay in their Parlor Family Suite C2, which is their largest suite with 4 queen beds, a small living room with a fold out couch, also a dining table and 2 full bathrooms. We are pretty easy to please. We mainly just want a place to shower and sleep at night but we do like plenty of space. I think all rooms come standard with refrigerators, microwaves and in-room movies. There is a tv in each room. Their pool is on the small side. However, it has never been a problem for us because we would rather be at the park. Their breakfast is a continental so I have never expected more than what they offer. It works well for us since we are not big breakfast eaters. We eat just enough to tide us over til lunch which allows us to only ending up paying for 2 meals a day. There is a convenience store down stairs in case you forget anything, or in our case, they sell Dr. Pepper which keeps us from going into withdrawals. There is a Denney's conveniently located on one side and IHOP on the other.

The staff has always been nice and helpful. I have saved as much as $70 a night by calling them directly and booking our rooms as far in advance as I know our dates. I would much rather enjoy spending the money we always save on lodging and spend it on souvenirs, snacks, and dining instead of over priced accommodations.

A toilet overflowing seems like a fluke thing that could happen anywhere. Unless it happens regularly here, I don't know if I'd be concerned about it happening to me.

To clarify the fact that they didn't offer to move her to a different room...did they not offer because they didn't care (which would be bad) or were there no other rooms available?

No other rooms were available. But the thought of someone's toilet overflowing into my bathroom, well, it just is not a good thought.
