Desert Inn and Suites UPDATE

lkohawaii - Not quite summer weather, but we did have temps around 80 degrees. Much warmer than I was expecting for December. My DH and I were very hot the first day. He was in jeans and I had on navy knit pants. I had only packed one pair of shorts for each family member. There were very warm winds at night.

It was much warmer than an April trip I took a few years back.

I think the parlor would be fine if you left the door between the two rooms open during the day with the fan running. You would also want to keep things opened for a while if you returned from the parks and found that housekeeping had turned off the air.

I wouldn't worry to much about the room you'll get at Desert Inn, everyone is going to have a different opinion and a different budget. I have seen things on boards saying if you can't afford to stay on property then you should save more because "it's really the only way to enjoy disneyland. I have stayed at the travelodge 2 yrs ago and the days inn that's closest to disney on harbor 4yrs ago. I paid about $40.00 a night each time. I was perfectly happy in my cheap little hotel rooms and my boys were thrilled and slept like rocks. My husband and my two boys 10 and 12 will be going and staying at the Desert inn in October and I'm not worried in the least.
Have Fun and don't worry about wherever you stay. You are going to be sharing the joy of disnland with you children what could be better.
