Description of each ride?

Is there a webpage or thread somewhere that has a description of what to expect on each ride? Or a book?

I am not good at all with the Tea Cup ride at Disney, and have yet to ride Mission Space because I am afraid of being ill. I figured if I have a description of the rides at Universal, I won't be surprised by getting into the wrong line or ending up on a roller coaster that is a bit too intense for me! My daughters really did not appreciate me screaming for the entire roller coaster ride on Apollo's Chariot :scared1: at Busch Gardens, VA, years ago!

Thanks!

At the top of this page, there's a grey bar that says "Universal Orlando". Click on it and it'll lead you to a page of links. If you look under the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure headings, you'll find info about the different "lands" and their attractions.

I know that coaster and I don't blame you. My least-comfortable coaster experience by far, and I've done Hulk, Dragon Challenge, HRRR, Kumba, Montu, Gwazi, SheikRa, Alpengeist, Big Bad Wolf, and a few others. There's something about AC that I don't care for--probably that it's designed to make you feel a lot of negative G's paired with an inadequate-looking restraint system. I've still been on AC three times though. ;)

If you don't like spinning, stay away from Storm Force Acceletron and possibly Cat in the Hat. If you don't do well with simulators, then be wary of Simpsons for sure, and possibly Spiderman and Forbidden Journey. Shrek and Jimmy Neutron (while it's still there) offer non-moving seats if you ask.

Thanks for the links! They are all very helpful.

And Mesaboy, thank you for the extra bit of information. Since you are familiar with Apollo's Chariot, is Rip Ride Rocket or Duelling Dragons similar to what you were describing with the negative G's and inadequate restraint system? I could not remember for the life of me why that coaster scared me so much, but those two bits of info sure do make sense!

I think I might have to stock up on non-drowsy Bonine for this trip. :)

The restraints on HRRR are similar to AC for sure, but the ride itself doesn't otherwise remind me of AC. There might be one or two -G portions, but that's about it. Even though there is a loop on HRRR, if you look closely it never takes you upside down. The most nerve-racking part of HRRR to me is the straight-up climb. Otherwise I think it's fine.

All other coasters at Universal Orlando are very tolerable and very fun! Lots of inversions, good drops, and Hulk in particular seems to go on forever.

I just finished reading a book called "Universal Orlando 2011" that was very good. You can find it on Amazon pretty cheap(paperback).
