My first and only trip to WDW was in 1987, and we went because I made a deal with my dad. If I played well in the softball season, then we could go to WDW the following summer. Well, I must have had a pretty good season because we went to WDW in early August 1987.

I was pretty excited that I was finally going to WDW!!!! Back then the major themeparks were the MK and Epcot. Rivercountry was the lone waterpark. I loved the MK, but Epcot BORED me! I was (and still am) not a strong swimmer, so I did not do that much at RC-I still LOVED it though.

I later asked my mom what her favourite park was and she said Epcot. I remember thinking to myself, how could anyone pick Epcot over the MK! Now that I'm an adult I can see why she would say that. We also went to Discovery Island, and I really enjoyed that.

That trip I also took my very first (of two) plane ride-that was an adventure in and of itself for me! I'm still looking forward to another plane ride, hey, stop laughing ;) One person still stands out in my memory on that plane ride to Florida-there was a really cute Army man sitting a few rows ahead of me that I kept staring at :)

We also stayed off-site, which was fine with me. We rented a car from National Rental Car (?) and also visited some other attractions like Sea World (I finally got to see SHAMU!!!!!!) and the Kennedy Space Center. I had a LOT of fun on that trip and am looking forward to the time when I can make a return trip. I am especially looking forward to riding Space Mountain, I was still afraid of Roller Coasters back then and never rode it.

Shortly after the trip I went on my first roller coaster with my dad, it is a relatively tame wooden one (I forget the name) at Six Flags Over Texas. The Texas Giant blows that one out of the water, so bring on Space Mountain!

PS I still have my souvinier Goofy hat (though it is deteriorating) that was actually signed by Goofy himself!

My first visit was in April, 1972. I was in first grade, so alot of the trip is fuzzy to me. I do remember crying hysterically on The Haunted Mansion because I was terrified, and I also remember loving It's a Small World. I was also scared on Snow White. I do recall my dad saying over and over "look at how clean this place is".

I don't remember anything about my first trip because I was only a year old.

It was March 1977 and we stayed at the Contemporary. I was 5 years old and got sick during the trip. I spent a lot of time in our room.

I wasn't even around the first half of March 1977! For me, March 1977 was the greatest month and year ;)

I hope that your second trip went better than your first.

My first trip to WDW was during spring break in 1975. I drove down to Florida with 3 college friends and we all decided to spend a day at the Magic Kingdom. Even though I was about to turn 20, I remember feeling like a kid that day. I ran from attraction to attraction trying to soak it all in. I remember one of my friends being totally amazed that it was my first time visiting the MK because I seemed to be quite the expert at navigating the park. I still have a newspaper from the day of our visit. The front page of that paper shows a long line of traffic trying to get into the MK parking lot. There were so many people there that day that they stopped letting people into the park around noontime. The funny thing is that I don't remember the crowds at all.

Since that trip, I've been back to WDW over a dozen times. Each time is as magical as my first visit of nearly 30 years ago.

My first trip was on a Saturday in July, 1994.

Three words come to mind; hot, crowded and miserable! AND they ran out of strollers!

It's a good thing I didn't let that first experience jade me!

LOL! On my 2nd trip I got a severe sunburn. None of this has stopped me from going back though.

My first trip was in 1971 and I really don't remember a whole lot of it. I do remember that we stayed at the Contemporary. And they had the A-E individual ride ticket system at the time.

June, 1981 - just the MK and River Country. We stayed on I-Drive.
I remember being blown away by it.
Which was a hint of what was to come when I returned in Sept. of 1998 with my wife. I was speechless.
That's why I've gone back every chance I get since...

My first WDW trip was summer 1994, age 12. We missed the opening of Tower of Terror and Innoventions by weeks! It was hardly a WDW trip though. My family went on vacation in Florida to see various places such as the Everglades. I insisted we go to WDW, but since I'm originally from CA and had visited Disneyland several times, my parents didn't think it was neccessary to take us to MK! We stayed at a Howard Johnsons in St. Kissemee and spent one day at Epcot and one day at MGM and that was it. Mostly, I remember that we hit every major attraction in both parks. We didn't stick around for Illuminations though. We saw a show called Splashtacular in Epcot as well as the Aladdin parade in MGM which I had seen at DL the year before. I have pics at home. I also remember that it drizzled a lot so the parks emptied out, and we had very few long waits. I finally got to see MK on a WDW trip with a friend in 2000.

My first trip to DL was Dec 1988, age 7. It was one of our Hanukkah presents that year. We spent most of the day in Fantasyland. I remember refusing to go on Space Mt. My sister (age 5 at the time) however was willing to go on it with dad, but afterwards we couldn't get an answer from her as to whether she liked it or not. I remember a character parade that year featuring both Rodger Rabbit and the Oliver 'n Co cast. I remember the parks celebrating Mickey's 60th birthday and seeing signs for it while riding on my dad's shoulders as we approached the entrance of the park. We stayed there until closing (I remember hearing the closing annoucement) and my sis fell asleep on the way to the car, and dad had to carry her.

My best friend and I flew to Orlando in March of 1979. I remember getting off of the airplane and renting the car and driving straight to the Hilton outside of WDW. We spent a week in Florida but just 3 days at the Magic Kingdom. I remember eating at the Poly for lunch and when we were riding the monorail back to MK I knew that one day I would stay at an "onsite" hotel at the resort. Finally got to stay at the Poly in January of 1993, 5 nights, Lagoon view. DD was 4 years old at the time and I think that seeing her reaction to Disney was better than my first trip.

July 1976 - I was 15. I remember most of it as MAJOR "WOW"
I thought the Hall of Presidents was a bit "freaky"
Pirates of Carribean was cool. I also remember spending time trying to figure out how to best use the A-E tickets.

July, 1982. We took my in-laws. I don't want to talk about it

My first trip was in 1972 when I was twelve. We drove from our New York to FL and camped at Fort Wilderness. I remember the trees were not very big at all. There was only the Magic Kingdom at the time, but I fell in love with WDW. I remember having a blast at the campground and going to the movie and campfire. I loved Its a Small World, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion and the monorail. I'll never forget that first trip.:p

My first trip to WDW was in February 2002...it was myself, DH, DS who was 13 at the time and DD who was 9. We saved for almost 2 years to take this trip, and it was well worth the wait!!! We stayed at ASMo and would not hesitate to stay there again. I think I had just as much (maybe more!!!) fun than the kids!!! It really was a trip to remember, and we are hoping to go back again....I know that I have caught the Disney "bug"....it really is a magical place that everyone should have the opportunity to visit!!!

1984, I was 14 yo. The marching band went to WDW. I had so much fun. It was exciting to be away from my family for a few days.:) I remember Space Mountain was my favorite ride. The big talk was about that new fangled Golf ball WDW was building, or if they had most of it done. No one in my group knew for sure.:)

My very first WDW trip was in November 1997 for our Wedding at the Wilderness Lodge and our honeymoon.
We stayed for 10 spetacular Days! Seeing Disney world for the very first time as husband and wife made it even more special.
It couldn't have been more romantic.

Well, I feel old, but here goes. Hubby and I first went in the early 1970's. We were married only a short while and didn't have much money. We drove down from Ma and stayed in the Day's Inn on Sand Lake Road. This was back in the day when they had tickets (ya know E-ticket, etc.) My in-laws had just gone down and had tickets left over. We paid our admission and used their tickets. I had always wanted to go to DL, but never had the chance when I was a child. WELL, hubby and I were hooked and were one of the first people in line for DVC. Over the years we have stayed in a lot of Disney's resorts and have APS. Never stayed offsite again. LOL!! BOY, we've sure come a long way!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!!

August 2000 with dh, and dd and ds. I posted a trip report but it got lost during the last board crash. The highlights were as follows:

1) Dh getting picked to be an extra in the FOTLK Show at AK.
2) Seeing the castle for the first time and capturing my kids' expressions on video.
3) Riding up front in the monorail.
4) Taking a picture with Mickey Mouse.
5) Seeing the greatest parade ever created--the Main Street Electrical Parade twice.

We went back in 2002 and had an even better time, but nothing will ever compare to seeing the castle for the first time.
