Describe your first trip to WDW

Unfortunately I do not remember my first time :( I was born in FL and have been going to WDW for as long as I can remember. I would estimate 25+ visits. It wasn't until I moved to Indy though that I ever stayed onsite. As you can see in my sig, it was last Sept. Stayed at POR and loved it. Don't want to stay anywhere but onsite from now on!!! I do remember the openings of MGM and AK though and all the wonderful attractions of the past which have since been "lost".

My first trip to WDW led to what I really consider my/our first trip to WDW the following year. I went to WDW on a business convention in early '98 while my wife, Marie, was in breast cancer treatment. I was amazed at the place and vowed if she recovered we would go there, for our first family trip, to celebrate her recovery. This part of my story is well documented for those who want to know more, by clicking on the first item in my 'spinner' clipart below, in several reports that it brings you to.

So, when we finally did go on our family trip in December or '99, that is what I really consider my first trip to WDW. We stayed at the Poly, complimentary upgraded to lagoon, concierge. :) We had length of stay passes, did everything. We were there for 9 nights I think. In addition to the parks, we did luau, Illuminations cruise, MK fireworks cruise, the kids did parasailing, MVMCP, Candlelight Processional, lots of PS's, Disney Quest and my daughter, Natalie was able to celebrate her birthday there. We ate like royalty, we laughed and smiled more than anytime before or since.

But so far, the only repeater to WDW has been me, 8 WDW trips and 2 DL trips since that first family one in '99. Hopefully I will be able to get some family member back in the years ahead.

Oct. '99. My mother, 70, my dd, 6 and myself, 50. My mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had just had surgery the Tuesday before we were supposed to leave!! She got the all clear on Friday afternoon and we left Sat. a.m. I look at that first visit as a gift from God for myself and my dd. My mother so wanted to be there when my Katie saw Cinderella Castle for the first time. Today, she is still cancer free.

My first and only trip was a couple years ago. WDW was great. Next time I'll leave several family members at home.

It'll just be me and my girls and we'll have lots of fun.

Two days at MK in the summer of 1980 at age 16 with my family. Specific memories are HM, SM, PoC and the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room!

I remember driving past EPCOT which I believe was under construction at the time.

My first trip was just around the official opening. Tomorrowland wasn't even finished yet!

I was on a modeling assignment for Eastern Airlines. I flew down in the morning (from Dulles), had an all day photo shoot riding assorted rides, and flew home that night.
