Describe John Kerry TWO WORDS

Yep. Though we weren't DC residents either (Maryland).

hey us too. :) you wouldn't believe the influx of stereotypical texans (think a lot more cowboy hats and cowboy boots, no i am not kidding :p ) and all the texas license plates around here after the last inauguration.

Our entire time in the area was during the Clinton Administration so I can't really guage what is "normal". I assumed that the DC area is lousy with yuppies no matter who's in office. But I developed a pretty strong aversion to the whole "Starbucks" thing while there. Now they call them "Metrosexuals", right. To me they were just yuppy possiers.

We retreated at night to the beautiful hills of Olney. Still pretty yuppy, but we were all too busy being soccer moms/dads to notice.

I do prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee....but that isn't the debate, is it?
yeah dunkin donuts coffee is sooooo much better then starbucks - I won't even go to a starbucks anymore

i've never been to a dunkin donuts. didn't have them where i grew up and there isn't one on my commute.

there are still lots of yuppies here, galahad. they just dress a little different. :p and actually i should say "dressed." while you do still see the ocassional hat/boots, it's not as bad as it was a few years ago. i guess they have assimilated. :p

I really liked

"anti defense"

I agree with the sentiment that there isn't any point in name calling. Although I admit I was tempted.

The point I try to keep in mind is that he is entitled to his views and opinions.

But, isn't it nice to know that we have the freedom to openly disagree.

How about....

BIG TROUBLE

and I'm originally from Massachusetts. I hope others clue-in to the danger Senator Kerry presents for this nation before the election.

By the way, I'm very, very conservative (now at least, I've been gone from Mass. for 11 years) and I absolutely love lattes.

I read an article a while back that said Dunkin Donuts actually sells more coffee than donuts.

I totally agree with that. I have a defect in my car. When there is a Dunkin Donuts in the area my wheel turns and the car slows. Before I know it I am in the drive thru lane for a large french vanilla, light no sugar. I can't recall the last time a bought a donut. I also buy two pounds at a time for home. I can't take a chance on running out.

>>That's 14 words.<<

Yes, but that's "too literal."

Handy, we share that experience in common. I lived in Brookline (talk about limousine liberal-ville, I was only there because I got a killer deal on an apartment) all through the (ugh) Dukakis era.

Even that far back Kerry (who was appended to Dukakis as lieutenant governor) was establishing himself as an unpopular elitist. May the photo below remind all of those horrific days, and what the seeds of the Kerry mindset really are:

Left to right: Michael "Tank Man" Dukakis, Kitty "he-drove-me-to-drink-cleaning-fluid" Dukakis and Lt. Governor Herman Munster, who is attempting to restrain his unbridled enthusiasm as his boss announces his run for the White House.

Hi Mickeymars - I was born and raised in Mattapoisett. Affluent, clueless. Locals call my high school "Happy High" because everyone attending goes through life with some major rose colored glasses, provided gratis by Kerry, Kennedy, Dukakis and the gang.

What about "War Hero". I thought Americans revered their veterans, not denegrated them.

I do appreciate what every veteran (hero or just plain g.i) has done. My dad and granddad were decorated.

It's just really hard to consider someone who has failed to support our men and women in combat right this second, a hero. He should understand, better than the majority, that it's about carrying out orders and accomplishing the mission. Kerry voted FOR the war with Iraq, citing the plight of all the oppressed Iraquis as well as the U.S. residents at risk of Saddams holy war against all things American. He was right then but to change his tune for purely political reasons----that's despicable and cowardly.
So,no, hero isn't the first word I'd associate with him.

You must not have been paying attention in 92 and 96, when Bill Clinton was running against George Bush and Bob Dole.

Just because someone doesn't support the war, doesn't mean they don't support the forces fighting that war. I've not supported this war for one single minute, but I support every one of our armed forces who are out there and I'm sure Kerry does as well.

>>Hi Mickeymars - I was born and raised in Mattapoisett.<<

Hi Handy - Mattapoisett is definitely upscale real estate, and from what you're saying, comfortably numb. I'm from another Gay State (oops, I mean "Bay" state ) variant of that: Weston.

On occasional trips back there, I sometimes encounter friends who stayed. What always strikes me is how screamingly oblivious they are to the impact politicians like Ted Kennedy, Dukakis, Barney Frank and now Kerry have on the reputation of the state AND the people like them who live there.

Perhaps I should send them some emails showing links to auctions on eBay, like the one below where the seller states "These Massachusetts Liberals just won't go away"
