Morning All,

Since today marks exactly 7 months till our wedding in Disney... I thought it would be appropriate to start my planning journal. :yay:

I never in a million years, thought I would be a "blogger:" type of gal, but since I have found so much information on this site, and it was helpful to boot, I thought I would share my story. :)

Mike and I are both from NJ ( don't lsiten to the rumors, its really not that bad.. I promise). We both lived right by the beach. Its was great, except for the Jersey traffic. However, in late 2009 we had to relocate to MD for work.

Although I miss home and the beach terribly, I am slowly starting to adjust. We have 4 ducks, and we built them a house and a pond! And I can not forget our sunshine, our dog, Ms. Emmy! :)

We have almost three acres, and are currently busy planting our "little garden". We have been exploring our new home state, and have been making wonderful memories, with just the two of us. It was not always easy, but it is definitely getting better.

In November 2009, while putting up a Christmas tree in our bedroom (yes, I am one those people with multiple trees lol) Mike made me crawl under the tree to make sure all the lights were plugged in.... ummm the lights were already plugged in and working lol.. but I was like ok, and managed to squeeze myself under, as I wiggled my way back up, mumbling about all the lint that was now on my sweater. he was waiting there on one knee.

However, since we had just moved into a new home and a new state, we put off the wedding plans off until , ummm...... January of 2011- much to everyone's dismay! We tried doing the traditional thing, the big ballroom, boiled chicken, the same old, same old. After much looking for something "different", and not having any luck, I came home one day and said DONE... it’s our wedding and we are going to do something that makes us happy. I was afraid that in 10 or 20 years we would look back at our wedding and be regretful that we didn't do it our way.

We are waiting for our LOA, however we have been penciled in for Epcot France for our ceremony and the Living Seas for the reception. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can have scuba Mickey!

I will upload some pictures as soon as I can figure out how to do that!

Welcome thanks for sharing our plans with others! Here is how to post pictures of things for your wedding:

You can not post pictures directly to a post. Here is what you can do to show off your great DIY thngs and items that you purchase:

• Get a free photobucket account at www.photobucket.com.
• Then upload your pictures to there.
• Once they are uploaded point your mouse at the picture and you will see a drop down list below the picture.
• Then left click your mouse on the words "IMG Code". When you do this you will see the word "copy" show up where the code was.
• Now go back to your post on the DISBoards and right click and "paste" the code into your post and the picture will show up once you complete the post.

Thanks for the instructions... now lets see if I was able to do it.

Here is a picture of Ms. Emmy :)

Ok, so here it is! Sorry for the small size, I am not to good on the up take and can't figure out how to make it larger.

The color I will be wearing is champagne on gold. I wanted a vintage look, and I will be wearing a birdcage veil with it.

Slight problem, I can't seem to find a birdcage veil to be in the same color family as my dress. They seem to only come in ivory or white. BOOO!

I plan on wearing heels that match the same color as my MOH

The "girl" at the dress shop ( I mean she was like a freshmen in college... sigh) was like "I never sold this dress before, not many people try it on". I was completely flattered by that, but I am sure others would second guess their choice after that. I was like, awesome, I won't look like everyone else.

Looking forward to reading the plans of a fellow Epcot and Living Seas bride :bride: My DH and I were married at the American Adventure Rotunda and had a Living Seas reception. I enjoyed reading your engagement story, I too am one with multiple Christmas trees in the house! Cute picture of your Ms. Emmy, our dog is our baby too :dog:

If you're using Photobucket for your pictures you can adjust the size of your photo uploads. Under "customize your upload options" at the bottom of the upload window then select 640x480 for your upload size which is a nice size for the boards.

Hi and welcome! I love your dress. I am like you, I don't want to look like everyone else so it's nice to see some other brides who feel the same way (there seems to be a lot of unique brides here on DIS). For your birdcage, try looking on Etsy or http://www.serephine.com/. Offbeatbride.com is also a great resource for finding unique items.

Good luck!

hiya and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!:cheer2:

you've come to the right boards for advice and inspiration. I'm looking forward to reading your journal as I am keen to see an Epcot/Living Seas wedding.

Lovely engagement story :lovestruc and I like your dress, its beautiful.

Thanks! I fell in love with the Living Seas and hope to get scuba mickey there!

Do you know if you are allowed to make your own centerpieces? I read somewhere you can' add decor or DIY things? I mean I am sure its great all on its own, but I would like to add "my touch" :) I'll pay someone to set it up, but not sure if they even allow. Boo!

Scuba Mickey will be such a great treat. I have saw pictures from other Disney brides who had him at LS. We brought in part of our centerpieces for our reception. We had snowglobes which we brought and then added flower petals, candles and glass blocks which we got from Disney Floral.

Congrats and welcome!! I'm getting married in epcot and reception at the living seas too! Can't wait to see what else you have planned

Thanks everyone- LSS looks so much fun can't wait!

I am thinking of doing orange coral for centerpieces. I'll have to find a picture for you all.

Did they charge you a set up fee or did someone from your family set up the globes?

Also, who set up your guest book area? I am planning on doing something a little different for my guest book- my fiances BM is a great artist- I have asked him to paint a replica of this old tree we have in our yard- with branches, no leaves. The guests will dip their thumbs on an ink pad and then press them onto the painting to make leaves. It sounds silly without a visual :lmao:

I will find a picture. I would need all that set up, plus I have some family pictures in frames and some albums- ohh yeah... and my favors. Geez I have alot of crap :lmao:

Did they set up anything you brought in?

I love the guest book idea! So unique!
Also, I'm a hopeful France ceremony bride (for my vow renewal in a couple of years (hopefully less!)
Can't wait to read more and see more pictures!!

Hey everyone,

Long time no talk- but don't worry I still have been lurking.

I do have lots to update.. finally. It seems like there was nothing to update for such a long time, and now that we are getting close, things are really picking up. :thumbsup2

Today is my work shower, which I am really excited about. I was told it is today, but don't know the details, so I will have some pictures to post on that this weekend.

We had our appointment with our planner and yesterday we spoke with floral and got that ball rolling.

Our Save the dates went out... picture to come shortly and the wedding website is complete! Yay! That took a long time, but it worked out great because we are not doing an actual paper invitation. Everyone received the website info on their save the date, and they can go directly there to RSVP to all the wedding events. Saved us a lot of time and money

Here is the wedding website http://www.mikeandes.wedsite.com/

oh yeah there is music on there too!

More pictures to come.. I have to make up for all the time I posted nothing lol

We are doing the centerpieces nautical, since we are in the Living Seas, however for the candy bar we are doing all Halloween candy! So excited, I LOVE Halloween and am trying to squeeze it in everywhere I can.

Since our wedding is early, we are all heading over to Mickey's Not-So Scary Halloween party that night. I have a hunch we will be slightly tired, but what a fun way to end our wedding day!!!:)
