Anyone see the Rays-Yankee game where Jeter acted like he got hit by a pitch when it actually just hit the end of the bat. Jeter had the trainer look at the hand that was "hit". He was awarded first base as a hit batsman.

Is it cheating. NOPE!

It is part of the game of baseball.

DH and I were talking about this as we were watching the game. We both agreed, that there is NOT one other team and/or player that wouldn't have done the same. And before any one says, that's what Yankee fans would say, we are not Yankee die hard fans. DH has been a life long Reds fan and I really don't have a favorite team, as there are too many players that I like and they don't play for the same teams, so I root for several.

well,I am a Rays fan and even after Derek Jeter acted like he got hit the Rays still came back and won the game.

Maybe the Yankees were just trying to make up for Saturday night when their Star Closing pitcher had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game and hit the next batter for a RANGER WIN!!! Yeah, they are probably just sad because they were SWEPT by My Texas Rangers!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I don't consider that cheating. I also don't think calling "I got it" when running the bases, pretending you are taking a throw to delay a runner, or trapping a ball and acting like you caught it cheating. They are just part of the game.

Steroids, altering the ball while pitching, corking the bat, and things like that are cheating IMO.

I like that Jeter rhymes with Cheater.

I hate when players act like they have been shot at the WC only to sprint back onto the field moments later and it makes Jeter the Cheater look like a fool to have milked it with the trainer.

Just take the base crybaby.

Maybe not cheating, but really bad form.

I am NOT a Yankees fan but I agree with you. It's like when the football is under all those players and each side is signaling THEY have it... it doesn't mean a thing until the officials call it. It's the same with being "hit" in baseball, the umpire made the call, not Jeter.

Go Rangers! :cheer2: Best in the West :goodvibes

I totally agree. You'd probably be pretty hard pressed to find a MLB player who wouldn't have done the same thing. It seems to me that the trainer was an even better actor than Jeter;)

It wasn't cheating. It's just good acting.;) Any other player would have done the same thing.

Agreed!! 100000%!

Was it worse than the Italian soccer player during the World Cup who pretended he got hit in the face when the guy barely touched him? THAt was hlariously over-acting!
