Just got home from WDW on saturday. I'm totally depressed! I can't wait to go back with the kids. My DH and I are going in Jan for the half marathon. I know it will be a fun trip for the two of us but I'm sad the kids aren't coming with. I must sound crazy! Does anyone else get the "blues" after coming home from Disney? Any tips to get over it. I can't get my bum moving on my training since I got home either. I know I have to kick in the rear with jan coming fast! I got a run in today but I thought I was going to pass out! Felt like I've never ran before.

We were so bummed after our first Disney experience that we bought through DVC. LOL!!! Was the best decision we ever made.:thumbsup2

Im bummed because I have to wait 254 more days to go back to Disney with just my hubby this time. I hate looking at my ticker sometimes but I love as the days pass and I can plan and save more

Yeah, we do, I think it is more the planning I miss then the trip. All the excitement of leading up to the trip. Honestly, I get a little sad a few days before the trip cause I think a week from now or 2 weeks from now it will all be over. Then I get there and have a blast so it's good again, but then I get home and there is 700+ days till our next trip and I feel a little let down.

Don't get me wrong, I know how blessed we are to be able to go at all, but we do so much leading up to our trips to suddenly not have that makes me a little sad.

Me too! On Sept 3rd I was bummed b/c that was 1 month til our trip was over LOL. Then I remind myself how lucky I am and I was able to recover. I still get PDD (Post Disney Depression) :guilty: when I get home, but then it's time to start saving for and planning the next trip :yay:

Right there with you. Our last two days at Disney also involved my ds (6) getting very ill and staying overnight in a florida hospital:sad2:

While I am thankful that he is o.k and already better.. it left me a little blue about the whole vacation. A bunch of meal credits not used, 2 days we didn't use on our tickets, e.t.c.

Again, I am very very lucky it wasn't more serious and I know that, I am jsut a little down.

I started a thread to get ideas for another trip in the future. I'm not sure when it will be, but I need to set my sights on a plan so that I have a distraction and something to look forward to in the future.

I always say that they need to make Prozac in the shape of little Mickey heads. Pass those babies out at checkout!!!

I thought I was crazy....we left on sept 2nd and drove 3 hrs to the area we flew out since my DH had a cancer check up. We spent the 2 n 3rd there. We flew out sat sept 4th. The week before my DH kept asking me why I was so bummed. I was excited to go on the trip but hated the idea that once we left I knew it was going to be over soon. Makes no sense....you can't wait to go but then you get bummed to go b/c it's going to come to an end. I tried to explain this to my bf but she didn't get it. (She never takes trips more than 2-3 days at a time and has never gone to disney) maybe that's why she doesn't get it or maybe i'm just a little disney nuts!

I REALLY would like to squeeze a trip in next sept. However it totally depends on the next 3 months. DH is possibly changing jobs and lots of other things happening. Plus July 2012 we have a conference in Orlando. We can extend the trip then and make it a family trip too. However after going in Sept I don't know if I ever want to go during PEAK again! We walked onto almost every ride. (Toy Story Mania was still a mess to get on) Heat was normal but the crowds and line were great! Yikes...I should probably start a thread on that to see if anyone wants to help me figure out what to do!

I think it is very normal. Our count down starts the minute we get back from a vacation, and we make a point not to talk about when we come home. Because it stinks.

Disney is a great place and leaving could make anyone upset!

Come on OP and get those shoes in gear! :thumbsup2 You and DH will have a great time at the half and WDW is great without the kids. You will tour in a different way and it will be a great time for just the two of you. :goodvibes

As for the kids going for the marathon, are you both participating? Then you would have to have someone to stay with them (unless they are teens) and then after the race you will be tired and want to rest while they would be ready to hit the park. Plus the night before you will need to go to bed early as you have to get up so early on race day. I think you are wise to leave them at home this trip. ::yes::

LOL I would have loved this!! Its like now I cant even post on the "how many days until your WDW trip" threads anymore cause mine will say 254 days and depress me even more:sad2:

:thumbsup2 I feel this way sometimes, too! It's the same with Christmas -- all the anticipation and busy-ness leading up to the 25th, and then afterward I feel kinda like, "...um...what now?"

:rotfl2: Too funny!

I always feel that way when I come home. I actually start looking up jobs at Disney, and think we should just move there! lol

I completely understand. I am like that as well. I like the "escape" Disney gives me. I am constantly looking for more ways to be able to go to Disney but considering we live so far away travel alone often becomes cost prohibitive. We bought annual passes this year with the hopes of being able to go more often but between money and everyone's conflicting schedules I don't think multiple trips are in the cards.

I usually start crying in the POP parking lot and cry a good part of the 7 hours it takes to get home. I hate coming back to the real world :(

I say count your blessings that your are financially able to visit so often. The economy hasn't been so kind to all of us. We are on the road to recovery, but it's been two years and counting since we've visited the mouse. Hopefully, maybe next year.

My favorite way to delay the sadness is to create a scrapbook or photo album of our trip. Then I get caught up in doing that and I can relive the trip! Then when the scrapbook is finished I feel a little better and not so sad...and I have the book to look at until we go again!

We joke about the same thing. MY DH finished school this past December but with 3 young kids we hate to move away from family.

I know we're blessed. I'm sure this will pass just got bummed from the trip being over.

I just started making a photo book on snapfish. I use to scrapbook but find it easier to use the photobook option for now. I'm waiting for our Disney Photo Pass CD to get here so I can use those photos in it. At least that will keep me busy for a little while.

I totally get that way too. the way we help the Disney blues is we have Disney movie nights and use our new and old Disney popcorn buckets and mugs. Its cheesy i know but it helps!
