Deposit Due Date (Steam coming from ears)

i recently booked a FTP and my travel agent said it took them an abnormally long time to get back to her b/c they are getting a lot of bookings from the FTP right now.

It is taking longer then usual. I booked a trip almost 2 weeks agon and have yet to get a comfirmation. I did pay the deposit by CC over the phone though so I'm not worried. Even when I ordered MNSSHP tickets 2 weeks ago they just got here yesterday. I think they are swamped.

The CM I had told me not to wait until I received a confirmation in the mail to mail it with the confirmation number she gave me. She stated to me that I would not receive the actual confirmation in time and to just write my check with the confirmation number on it. Anyway, my deposit is due 5/22 and I just received my confirmation yesterday. I checked everything out and the confirmation number she gave me is the same as on the hard copy of the confirmation so I shouldn't have any problems.

It's true, if paying by check two weeks is a very tight turnaround if it takes that long to get the confirmation. I remember thinking when Disney changed the time to remit the deposit from three weeks to two that they were probably trying to cut down on the amount of rooms tied up by those who don't intend on keeping the reservation or book more than one. I'll bet that two weeks from the date that the package was available to book a lot of rooms will open up from those who didn't send deposits. Of course that's a problem for those like the original poster who now have such a short time to send in a check. It's funny, when I booked over the phone this time, I received a confirmation a few hours later via fax at my home office and I didn't even give them the fax number. They must have had it from a previous trip a few years ago, but neither DH or I remember giving it to them. Strange. But at least I got the confirmation quickly. :D

Rooms at the Contemporary opened up today for my dates so I switched our reservation quickly.

The CM said to call tomorrow to leave my $200 deposit. Technically, the balance is also due tomorrow since tomorrow is 45 days.

She said that even though my 45 days is tomorrow, they won't cancel my reservation if I don't pay the balance tomorrow. My $200 holds my room until I can pay. They will just send me a balance due invoice notice and I can send my payment in then. She said I could send $1,500 one week, $1,000 the next, etc.

Has anyone else ever had this happen? I don't want to lose my $200!!!!

When you call CRO and make your reservation, they give you a confirmation number and a date your deposit is due. Sure, it's nice to have an invoice but you know, before you hang up the phone, when the deposit is due. All you need do is write a check, your confirmation number on it and send it in.

There is an 800 number on the back of our reservation sheet. I've called it a couple different times now.

I made my ressie the 9th, got my confirmation the 13th, paid the deposit over the phone the 15th, and got my revised confimation on the 19th.

I live in Indiana, but the service has been very prompt and I don't have the slightest complaint. My trip isn't even until the middle of September.

I always give my deposit on the phone with CRO/WDTC and use my Diner's Club Card - no problem at all.

If I intended to use a cheque, I would not wait for their confirmation paper, I would type up a note with the confirmation number and mail it to them to avoid any issues

thanks

I always send my check in 3-4 days before the due date and have never had a room cancelled. Just sent my check yesterday that was due on 5/23.

Are you by any chance a Disney Club member? If not, please, please share the 800# with us! :)

I'm not a club member now, but it has me listed as one on the sheet. So, I guess I can't share it. Sorry.
