Deposit/Closing Questions?

Hi,

If I were to put half of our deposit down...when do we need to put the rest of the deposit (i.e. 30 days) and how long does it take to close through Disney?

Check with your Guide. When we bought in March, we had up to 60 days to pay the remaining portion of our deposit. However, just keep in mind that the payment of your deposit usually will trigger the closing, so if you are wanting to make any last minute changes to your contract, do so before you pay the remainder of your deposit. As to when your contract will close, DVC will usually set a tentative date 30 days from the date you sign the contract. However, obviously if you are early or late paying your deposit, the closing may happen earlier or be postponed. Hope that helps!

Just called and my guide said half up front and I could send the other half back with the signed paperwork. So however long it is to get the paperwork to you would be my guess.

Disney is usually pretty flexibile and willing to work with people. When I did an add on, I put my deposit down and wanted to wait 30 days to pay the balance of the contract since I was using my Disney Visa and wanted to miss the statement date (so that I got an additional month).

It was no problem. My guide set it up that way and they automatically billed my CC with the balance after the 30 days. The contract then closed a few days later.
