Departure Day Plans - Area Playgrounds?

I need recommendations for playgrounds/parks in the area to fill our departure day afternoon. We have younger kids and no park plans for that day. I suspect my kids will just want to run around and a playground would be perfect. As far as I know there are no playgrounds in DTD or the Disney hotels, correct?

We'll fly out of SNA in the late afternoon and will have a car. Can anyone recommend a good park between Disney and the airport to hang out at?

Thanks!

Head to Mile Square Park south of Disney! Easy ride from there to SNA. The Santa Ana zoo is cute and is really a playground.

There is also an American Ninja Warrior play experience for kids at Main Place Mall. I’ve heard it is fun for kids and adults, but the kids need to be on the older side. (I think at least 6 years old).

Oh, and across the street from there is the Discovery Science Museum which is a great place to kill time!

How old are the kids? Go to Irvine for a couple hours. There are over 150 parks to choose from. It is safe, clean, and you won't run into any homeless or drug addicts there. It's close to the airport. About 10 minutes away. Plenty of great restaurants in area as well.

Favorites of my kids when they were young:

Bill Barber Memorial Park
Northwood Park
Adventure Playground

Sounds so fun! But, yes, two of mine are too young and that would just not be my 8 year old's thing AT all!
