Departure date question for alumni!

What exactly happens on the departure date? I am trying to plan my return flight home and am not sure if there will be anything happening that day (such as a check-out or something like that) and don't want to accidentally book a flight that would conflict. Can anyone give me a basic agenda of what goes on that day? My departure date is August 10th, if that matters at all. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The departure date simply means you must have vacated CP housing property by 11 AM. It is also the last day your Disney ID will be valid. You can actually leave before your departure date, your last day of work is usually two days before your departure date, so in your case they will give you the 9th off to pack and clean your apartment to inspection standards. My departure day was filled with lots of hugging and crying...so keep some tissues in your pocket
