Deodorant

OK...so getting married July 1st....need a GREAT and STRONG deodorant...

SUGGESTIONS??

I have hyperhidrosis (i.e. I sweat a lot) I've even had the botox shots in my underarms to prevent sweating. While the shots worked well, they were painful (25 shots per underarm), expensive (although my insurance covered most of the cost) and my last batch had some bad side effects...so bad I went to the hospital because I was having severe chest pains...so I probably won't be getting them again.

I currently use the secret clinical strength, the sensitive skin version because I can't stand scented deodorants. I put this on at night before bed. Then in the morning I used dove sensitive skin. It works pretty well. Most of the clinical strength ones work well, especially for moderate sweaters. I only use secret because it's the only unscented one.

I agree with the Secret Clinical ...

don't laugh, but the chunk of salt that BASIN in DTD sells worked great for me too...I become resistant to deodorants..I have several different brands at one time and I don't perspire so don't need the anti perspirant..but the salt thing doesn't leave white marks on my clothes and blocks the bacteria that makes the odor!!

Maybe I am a freak but Secret did nothing for me. I use Certain Dri. It goes on at night too. Ever since chemo I have hyper active sweating so this is the only thing that keeps me dry. I have lived in Fl my whole life and Certain Dri keeps me dry and non stinky during the summer here while doing yardwork so I recc it. It is non scented and that is all I use too.

I completely agree with Betsy!! That rock that Basin sells works really well. And you wouldn't think it would by looking at it.

I've always used Dry Idea or Soft and Dry (The names they come up with for deodorant - uber original) They're both clear gel based deodorants and they don't leave any white stuff. Just my two cents!

i use mitchum...its both an anti persparant and a deo. they are made by revlon, so id presume its avail in the states as well. however i like the white invisable stick vs the gels/roll on- i sweat a lot too and have considered botox- okay wished for it- and i find the white stick better then the gels and roll ons.

Hmmm...maybe I'll have to try this certain dri product. I was on a prescription antiperspirant and it gave me a horrible rash, and they even prescribed me these electrophoresis pads...it was crazy. Sorry to hijack, but now I'm curious. hehe. dhay, you have sensitive skin or anything, has it ever caused issues?

And to KStarfish, do you mean for odor or wetness or both? Sorry I had assumed both protection.

This stuff is not like regular deoderant. It is like water and dries and it prevents you form sweating, and therefore smelling. The first few times I used it it really did tingle and was uncomfortable but I was desperate and kept using it and a few days later it stopped bothering me. Do not use it right after you shave OMG it will sting. Other than that I have had no problems. I will be drenched in sweat in 100 degree heat in July in Fl but my underarms are incredibly dry

We have something in the UK called Triple Dry, I've found this to be pretty good.

Again, it's one of those you put on overnight and wash off in the morning, you can buy this one is an aerosol spray or a roll on.

I may also be a freak - CertainDri is the only thing that works for me too, and I've tried them all: Secret Clinical strength, Mitchum, various rocks....
