Denise's Days (Comments Welcome!)

donuts are the devil :p . but hey, we have to give in sometimes (or in my case, multiple times a week! . half a donut, that is great, i wish i had that kind of self control.

congrats on that pound gone! excellent :bounce:

(wow, i'm actually not full of words today! i'm sure i'll be back to my normal rambling tomorrow ;) )

Hmm, I shouldn't wait this long into the next day to post; I'm having trouble remembering what I ate yesterday...:

B: Oatmeal, ww toast, orange juice

W: I ran 3 miles on the treadmill (upped my speed again--ran 3 in 26min.) Still not up to where I used to run, but I'll keep improving--I only have about 4 weeks until track season starts. I also walked a five min. cooldown at 4mph.

S: baby carrots

L: Spaghetti-Os and half a peanut butter sandwich on ww

S: animal crackers

D: Lean pocket and baked french fries

It must be a Sunday thing--I don't have much to say either, Marcia! I talk to you all later. :)

Denise-
Sounds like you are doing really great!:sunny: If we could just banish the *evil* M & Ms, you are gonna be doin so fine!!

Seriously, I'm impressed with your exercise. I've been a littl under the weather, so I've laid off the exercise. It's gonna be h**l to get back on track.:( But I'll take a page from your book and stick to it! Thanks for the inspiration!;)

Sharon~I hope you are feeling better. And don't worry, a few days off from exercise won't do you in--you'll be fine. Thanks for stopping by; I always enjoy your words of encoragement. :)

This was my Sunday:

B: Co co wheats, toast, and a slice of the ff banana bread posted by, Hey! It was you Sharon! It can be found Here! It was very good; I think I could have baked it a little longer, but still good! Thanks for the recipe Sharon!

S: baby carrots w/ ff ranch dressing

L: reduced fat peanut butter and sugar free preserves sandwich on ww bread, a little ff cottage cheese

S: animal crackers

D: 1 steak fajita (with tomato and 2 slices of the meat) and cinnamon tortilla chips (4 chips)

W: the 57min Winsor Pilates tape (this is the first time I did this one; it was great. A lot of the moves are the same as Pilates for Dummies, but it was longer and more challenging)

I also forgot to put on my Sat. entry that I did abs after I ran. Doing pilates made me quickly remember that! (I was a bit sore!) ;)

I told my DH that I had 9 pounds to lose in the next 7 weeks before we leave for DW and he laughed at me! I know him well though, and his laughing is meant to motivate me. He's is very supportive by running with me and encourages me to workout--he was laughing as we had the conversation and I told him I was going to tell everyone on here that he is a punk! He's actually the one who got us both eating healthy. I can't wait to tell him that I told on him! ::yes:: In just 4 more pounds, I'll be back down to where I was when school started--I can't wait! (that was probably my lowest since HS--though I'm not positive, b/c I didn't really pay attention in college and I did run a lot then--the only weight I remember from HS is being 133 on my senior year physical and all I ate was junk then). I am so excited about the possibilities and am determined to reach my first goal (reminder: I set my to Disney trips as my two goal dates, just b/c it gave me an actual date to shoot for). Thanks for :listen:***--ttyl.

Edit: I forgot to add that DH did notice the pants and shirt I'm wearing today fit me way better than they did last year at this time! He paid me a nice complement! :)

denise, your dh is definitely a punk  . haha, good for you for using his laughing as motivation though. i know you can do it, i don't care what he says! :o and the disney trips are a great time to set your goals for, definitely gives you a concrete date to work toward. and the motivation of mickey ::MickeyMo

i just noticed you had mexican for dinner last night, me too :)

i'll talk to you later denise, have a wonderful day today :sunny:

Denise - gotta love the compliments from DH ;)
And tell him we're keeping an eye on him - no laughing at you allowed! (That should intimidate him, huh??!! )

Glad you liked the banana bread! And funny thing, I had the same problem about not baking it long enough the first time. I thought it was my oven; maybe not?!

And yeah, it won't be too bad (I hope) to get back to exercise. I'm feeling much better today, so I have an appointment with Mr. Stepper tonight! hehehe!

It sounds like you are doing SOOOOOO awesome! 9 lbs in 7 weeks is so doable! (hows that for valley girl talk?!) Just be sure to stay away from the *evil* M&Ms;) . Okay, you can do it! Keep up the exercise and the great food choices.

TTFN-
Sharon

Thanks Marcia and Sharon! I had DH read your messages and told him he's in trouble with you guys! :p He laughed some more, but this time at the fact I told you about it. He then said he hopes I make my goal and he's willing to run more days with me if it will help. So, forget Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday--we're adding Wednesday and Sunday and maybe Monday on some weeks! I'm excited because once track season starts, I'll be running with my team 5 days a week (I'm the head coach, but I actually coach the long distance kids). Here's how yesterday went:

B: Coco wheats, banana, orange juice

S: baby carrots

L: ham sandwich w/ ff cheese and ff miracle whip on ww bread, baby carrots, baked tortilla chips

S: apple and ff yogurt (3:00)

S: (due to a 3 hour class = late dinner) pretzels (6:00)

D: ff chicken pattie on a white bun and a cup of dry Raisin Bran

No workout yesterday, due to the class (sadly, this class doesn't even have anything to do with grad school--it's just to become a mentor teacher for newbies). I was beat when I got home so I did some grad school work and was in bed by 9:30! Yay! I'm really looking forward to working out tonight. Have a great day everyone!

hey there denise! i had an off day from exercise on monday too! and good for you for hitting the sack early. listen to that body when it's tired, it'll thank you for it later :)

that is too funny about dh. maybe he should be required to read through your journal once a week or something. just to keep him from making fun of you, to see that you really are serious about this. i think it would serve him well ::yes::

track season starting sounds like it will really be great for you. getting to run while at work, what i wouldn't give :p. my best friend is the assistant coach for winter track at my town's hs (there's only her and the head coach...small team), so she gets to go out running with my brother. she's more the weight team coach, but the other coach is injured so he can't run, and they don't like to send the kids out alone all the time. i get jealous, although, i don't know that i'd be able to keep up with my brother anyway :p

have fun with your workout tonight, i plan to :) i'll be thinking about you! have a great day :sunny:

Wow! I've really been keeping this for 2 weeks now! I'm not sure I have much progress to show for that, but I can say that it is getting me back on track (even if slowly). Marcia~ I told DH what you said and he just laughed some more; he thinks we are too funny! Oops! Have to go to a meeting (what a lovely way to spend my prep.) Anyway, I'll add my Tuesday later. Have a great day everyone!

hey denise! just wanted to stop by to say hello

2 weeks...i think i've been here for about 3. crazy how time flies! and what are you talking about no progress??? i see lots of good things. you're eating better, you're taking care of you, and this is something you are doing consciously. it's a change of behavior, and i think that's a huge nsv. who cares what the scale says? (ok, ok, i know we all do :p) but ya know what? this is going to be a process. and you're doing all the right things, you will see results ::yes::

i'm so proud of you, denise, for embarking on a healthy living journey :bounce:

have a great day today, i'll check back with you later :sunny:

Finally, a moment at the computer; it's been such a busy day, but the kids love the unit we're doing now! Here I am Wednesday is almost over and I'm just now getting a chance to post my Tuesday:

B: Oatmeal, ww toast, orange juice

S: banana

L: ham on ww bread, baby carrots, ff yogurt

S: 1 cinnamon tortilla chip

W: upper body, ran 1 mile on the treadmill, then walked one--I felt so tight; I couldn't get going, then I hopped on the *evil* stepper (HI Sharon!) to what all the hype was about--man, that thing really made me sweat! (and I only stayed on for 10min. while DH finished his run!) Sharon~how long have you been using it? Does it bulk your lower body or slim it? Thanks! I felt bad b/c I just could not bring myself to finish my run, but nonetheless, I got a pretty good workout in. I tried some new machines for my upper body and I've been increasing my weight!

D: ww spaghetti w/ spray butter and parm. cheese, slice of garlic bread

S: dry honey nut Cheerios

Thanks for stopping by, ladies. Marcia~I love the way you look at things; your words of encouragement mean so much to me. I hope everyone is having a great day!

Is this week over yet?! :p It has seemed long for some reason; at least today is Thursday and I don't have school on Monday! (Though I need to spend the day doing grad school work.) Anyway, here's yesterday:

B: Coco wheats, ww toast, orange juice

S: banana

L: ham sandwich on ww bread, ff yogurt, and then I fell apart--one of the worst things about working at a school--trays of treats from a bunch of different parent groups and organizations--I should be able to with stand temptation and sometimes I can, but, let's see, I had a 2 chocolate Dove hearts and some peanuts with red hots mixed in them. All of that and I could have simply eaten the carrots in my lunch bag (AAAARGGG!)

W: Lower body (gotta love those lunges and step ups!)

S: (as if I actually needed something after lunch) animal crackers

D: homemade chicken nuggets (we just cut up chicken breast and rolled the chunks in Italian bread crumbs and baked them--just tried it for something different; they were pretty good), green beans, brown rice, and chocolate soymilk

I'll just say Grr! about the day, but it's over now. I have to go to a parent meeting now--TTYL! :)

Denise,

Thank you for posting to my journal...it is so much fun to see someone has actually read it. Didn't realize how "freeing" it would be. Your words of encouragement really helped this morning!

I just read through most of your journal, it was great! You are doing so very well! I am inspired by your commitment to exercise.
With your excellent attitude, I have no doubt you will reach your goals.

Have a great day,

E.:sunny:

good morning :sunny:

thanks for posting support on my journal, those jeans are in site:)

Thanks for stopping by, ladies--it means a lot to me. I'm happy to support you, E. Here is my Thursday:

B: 1/2 cup egg beaters, ww toast, orange juice

S: bagel and 4 mini tootsie rolls

L: ham sandwich on ww bread, brown rice, ff yogurt

S: banana and peanut butter

W: I ran for 30min. (3.25 miles) and then walked a cooldown at 4.2mph

D: grilled fish, ff baked beans, baby carrots, chocolate soymilk

I was hoping to get some pilates in last night, but I was so tired and by the time I let dinner settle, it was time for Friends. :p Maybe my priorities aren't straight, but I felt like I had a good run and I'm never too awake on Thursday nights. I did get to talk on the phone with my mom and two of my sisters! That's always fun! One of my sisters was on the road on her way to Disney World! I'm so jealous, though I'll be there soon! She and her husband drove down there yesterday with their two sons, ages 10 and 3. I wish I was there with them--that would be so much fun! Well, I hope everyone is having a great day! TTYL. :)

Just wanted to stop by and say you are doing a good job, it is good to see that you include a little of the things you like. Like the mini tootsie rolls, if you were to cut chocolate out all together it can cause problems later. :)

Thank You for writing in my journal, it makes me feel good and sometimes going through it is the only thing keeping me going.

Keep it up you'll get to that goal!!!!::yes::

Hi Denise!

So ya liked my *evil* stepper, huh?!:rotfl: That thing is NOTHING to laugh at!! I've managed to work up to 30 min. The key is to go slower than you would normally. 30 steps per minute is about right for me. I haven't used it long enough or seriously enough to tell you for sure, but others have told me it REALLY slims down your lower half. That's were I need all my work, so I'm really trying to stick with it this time. I'll keep ya posted to results!;)
Sounds like you've been fairly busy and tempted a lot. I think you are doing great with it all. Teachers especially have an awful lot of temptation thrown at them. Good for you to just have a little! Keep up the good work and you'll be in WDW in no time - lookin fine!!

::MickeyMo princess: thanks for stopping by my journal! I love getting the encouragement and I'm glad I am able to give some to you!

Sharon~Thanks, your words mean so much to me. I think I might get on the stepper for a little bit after my runs--I did enjoy it--even though it's *evil*! :p That is great that you've worked up to 30min.--keep up the great work!

Here's my Friday:

B: Coco Wheats, ww toast, orange juice

S: ff yogurt

L: peanut butter sandwich, animal crackers

S: specialK bar, dry honey nut Cheerios

D: 2 slices of cheese pizza (thin crust)

S: ff popcorn

I don't know what to say about the day--It wasn't great, but I'm getting ready to run right now and I think I'll feel better about myself when I finish. Have a great day everyone! :)
