Trying to find out if the reimbursement if testing positive at the port has been extended past the end of May…or if you have symptoms or exposed 14 days prior.

I know that is not until the end of next month but just trying to be as informed as possible.

The Flexible Refund temporary policy does not have a stated end date. This is the one allowing cancellation within 14 days for a covid-related reason.

Thanks the only info I was able to find gave that end of May date.

It's true the website does not specify an end date for the Flexible Refund Policy. But DCL has told my TA twice (as recently as last week) that the policy ends May 31. Honestly, I'll be pretty upset if they don't honor the policy, since it's still posted on the website. I sail to Alaska in June and I'm past any other possible refund date.

Ugh…that was my concern …my cruise is July….although sometimes it depends who you get on the phone what answer you get…I guess we will see in June what happens…I am also dealing the same thing with Celebrity...we have a European cruise in September that is covered under their Cruise with Confidence program where I can cancel up to two days before for any reason and get a full FCC but if I test positive during the pre cruise test I get nothing unless they ex tend their COVID assistance program that ends April 30th. Whereas there sister company Royal has extended that till April 2023 I believe. It’s all so confusing.

I highly suggest anyone cruising this summer or fall (any time, really) have good travel insurance. Temporary covid policies that have been in place will eventually end. I honestly couldn't imagine traveling at this time without such insurance.

I do have travel insurance….but thought it would be a little easier if the policy was still in place…sometimes claims don’t paid out as you would like.

There is no date listed on that link besides the September deadline for those that move their dates, which is what you were probably trying to show! I was told that my June 25th cruise would be covered.
Its common to be told different answers, but I don’t see Disney suddenly ending the policy for cruises in the next few months. They are having trouble filling cabins on some sailings.

The link I shared has the 4 different "temporary" policies (related to PIF and cancellations) that DCL has had in place since the restart last summer. There are 2 main deadlines noted, May 31st and Sept. 30th, and one policy doesn't state a deadline.
  • The Extended Final Payment policy, which extends the PIF date to 60 days out (from the standard 90-120) for sailings through Sept. 30th. There are some sailings on the Magic and Wonder currently extended to a 30-day PIF. This does not apply to IGT/OGT/VGT which are PIF at the time of booking.
  • The Relaxed Cancellation Fee Schedule goes hand-in-hand with the above policy, for sailings scheduled through Sept. 30th. This means the penalties don't kick-in until 59 days prior to embarkation (29 days for the Magic and Wonder sailings with a 30-day PIF). However this does not apply to concierge/suite or IGT/OGT/VGT bookings or the Wish maiden voyage.
  • The Cruise Date Flexibility policy applies to sailings up to May 31st. This allows guests to change the cruise date (essentially push it out) up to 15 days prior to departure. No penalty at the time, but there will be if the new date is subsequently cancelled. I think this is from where the May 31st confusion may be coming.
  • And the Flexible Refund Policy which has no stated end date. This allows cancellation due to covid within 14 days of the sail date. Yes it could end at any time; personally I think it will continue through the summer, but DCL could simply push that responsibility back to the cruiser with expectation that people have travel insurance to cover unexpected/unplanned last-minute cancellations.
Its common to be told different answers
Agree. Unfortunately in their attempt to be "helpful" phone CMs sometimes give wrong answers if the info they can access doesn't actually give an answer. Like the undated temporary policy. I highly doubt that any phone CM has more inside knowledge about policy changes that isn't available to the general public.

I see a future new Disney category similar to the airlines Stand-by category. One like GTY and you might not get on. Call it MYB (Might Yet Board or maybe) Only about xx sold per trip since xx normally are turned away/canceled because of Covid. So a few might get a room 2 week before because of Covid canceled reservation. Although most would have to wait at the terminal after 1:00 to see if they get on by 4:00. But you must pay in advance like normal cruise but book adventures on the ship. But get 10% future discount if turned away, you get what you get sorry no changes, non-refundable and credit only if your turned away.
So this would be for the retirement community and locals near the ports.
But since it could cause disappointment I’m thinking it would not happen.

I have to come back to this I’m finally on the phone with Disney!!!

Them doing that wouldn't be worth the negative publicity they'd get from it.
I don't think DCL will drop the temporary policy as soon as the next 2 months, though it will eventually be dropped - just my opinion no inside knowledge. Other cruiselines already require the guest to have insurance if denied boarding. DCL has always (pre-covid) denied boarding to people who were sick or had certain symptoms. At some point to return to "normal" covid needs to be considered like any other illness without all the extra policies in place.
