Will this be the beginning of the "Fairness Doctrine"? Do they have nothing else today except rail against a private citizen whom they have taken out of context? Are they worried?

Democrats Launch Petition Against Rush Limbaugh
Tuesday, January 27, 2009
By Melanie Hunter-Omar

(CNSNews.com) – The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an online petition for readers to express their outrage at conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh for saying last week that he wanted President Barack Obama to fail.

The petition includes a 19-second sound byte of Limbaugh, saying, “If I wanted Obama to succeed, I’d be happy the Republicans have laid down. I don’t want this to work. So I’m thinking of replying to this guy, say ‘okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.’”

Meanwhile, Obama advised Republicans last Friday to stop listening to Limbaugh if they wanted to get along with Democrats and the administration.

Now that's funny! A petitition....I bet Rush is shaking in fear over that.
I don't get what they are up in arms about. Of course Rush wants Obama to fail, he doesn't agree with what he is doing. He doesn't want America to fail, he wants what he percieves as a faulty policy to not be enacted.

Note this is a campaign committee...interesting how the linked site(far right leaning) are outraged the the "government" would allow this...CAMPAIGN committees can do anything they want, as we found out in this election.
Limbaugh has been dishing it out for years, I'm sure he can handle the backlash of his rhetoric.

A petition is ridiculous. I am a liberal Dem who voted for Obama but I wouldn't sign anything like that. Rush Limbaugh may be a "private citizen" but he is influential to those who buy the crap he is selling. Let them buy it. This is America.

This is a classic case of "they can dish it out but they can't take it."

If Rush is that bad, people will stop listening and his career will fail. Petition or no petition.

This petition makes the Dems. look whiney and cranky. Not good for their image.

Edited to add: Note to Obama: The best way to give Rush free publicity and keep his ratings up is to keep mentioning him.

He'll prob. print up t-shirts.

I wish I could just tell them to grow up and get over it. It's absolutely hilarious all the attention their giving to Rush, seems to me the more fuss they make about him the more power their giving him.

I am sure he will welcome it! I didn't see any 'outrage' in the article. If posters to that site expressed outrage, who cares. We see enough "outrage" expressed on the Dis every day. Doesn't change the news nor the DNC's ridiculous method of fund raising. As a PP said, Rush will make tee shirts and make enough money selling them to fuel his private jet. ;)

I need my eyes checked I opened this thread thinking the name in the title was Bush not Rush!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Too funny!
Thanks for sharig.

::yes:: I agree. I can't stand the pompous windbag, but this petition is just going to make him look far more influential than he actually is.

:rotfl2: Good grief, what a waste of everything this will be.

President Obama did not tell anybody to stop listening to Limbaugh. :rolleyes2 I thought we went through this the other day with your post about it-more word weaving Dawn?:coffee:

I agree with the bolded. The first thing I thought of was whiney Dems who can't take it.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done" - Obama

You can't listen to Rush and get things done, ergo, to get things done, stop listening to Rush. Sounds pretty clear to me.

Rush isn't starting a petition! :rotfl2: No word weaving here. The word weaving is coming from the left, starting a useless petition against Limbaugh. They forget that "Rush is too big to fail". :rotfl:

I'm with you. Who cares what Rush says, anyway? :confused3

If anyone has a teflon suit...its Rush and the Dems will not get anywhere with this game of theirs. They will eat their own in two years anyway.

Rush will probably send the Dems a thank you note for all the free publicity! :lmao:

Maybe he can auction this letter on eBay too and turn another Democrat publicity stunt into charity gold!!

Go Rush!!

Don't confuse them. :rotfl2:
