I'm helping a friend plan a trip for her family of 4. They would like a suite so that the kids could go to bed in a separate room while the adults watched TV in the living room area for a while. I've been looking at ASMusic, Art of Animation and Fort Wilderness cabins. I was wondering about the deluxe options? I know they wouldn't need concierge level. Are there suites available that are not concierge level? This is unknown territory for me. Thanks!

At the deluxe resort level all the suites would come with club level service. You can look into a Deluxe Villa option. They would fit in a 1-bedroom, however, they would have to put the kids in the master bedroom to be able to watch TV in the living room and then they would have to move the kids to the pull-out when they go to bed. A 2-bedroom would work better for that situation.

If cost is an issue they can look at renting points from a DVC member. I also think the cabins are a great alternative, we did the cabins several times with my kids and had a great time.

You are correct, the suite options at Deluxes all are also Club Level. Also, most (at BWI, TC & BC anyway) the Deluxe room/suite is not 2 separate rooms, just one large one.

I think a villa is the way to go for them so that they have separate rooms.

a 1-bedroom would work - these are at - AKV, BLT, BCV, BWV, SSR, OKW, VWL

generally if you rent a reservation from a DVC member they are less than WDW suites.
