Deluxe savannah vs. standard savannah??

Hi, guys...

I booked our room at the AKL for January, which was a standard Savannah room. I got a great code rate of like $168. I was just talking to a friend of mine who is also going to AKL in January (different time, though) who booked a "Deluxe" savnnah room at the price of $289 per night using the BDP code.


Neither of us knew what the difference was, and/or why the price would be so much more. Is a "deluxe" simply a better view and bigger room? Or is it a concierge level room?

Anyone know the answer to that? I told her I'd know where to find out. Thanks!

The deluxe can sleep 5 and are slightly large than the standard rooms. All the 5th and 6th floor rooms are deluxe, and the concierge rooms are on the 6th and some on the 5th floor, but not all of the deluxe are concierge. My concerige room with that code was $395.

we were in a savannah standard but when we got there the room had not been made up & it reeked of smoke...so we went back down stairs are were upgraded for the second time (first time was w/o asking to a savannah view.........our friends had a regular savannah so i was able to compare.

we had 2 kids, 2 adults, & 1 baby....there were bunkbeds, a queen, daybed & sitting table & two chairs. we had room to rent a bassinet for the baby....we had lots of walking room.
our friends who were in the savannah standard had 2 kids & 2 adults...bunk & queen, no daybed, just a table & one chair....smaller version of what we had....and with their luggage & snacks (they had 2 large tubs) it was really crowded (& their kids were only 7 & 4).

i would say that our room was bigger, better, more comfortable & ok for a free upgrade, but we didn't stay there alot so i don't think i would PAY to upgrade to it..........unless you plan on staying in the room ALOT..........it's not worth it (unless you happen to have money to burn!).
