Deluxe Resorts with "Quiet" Pools

In both of my comments I stated that lifeguards at deluxe feature pools don't allow jumping in. "No jumping in is allowed."

Well, that doesn't jive with my own personal experience. Kids jump in from the sides of the pools all the time. I've never seen a lifeguard tell them not to. I've stayed at every single Deluxe resort except Polynesian.

The cocktail portion of the question - Can you bring your own cocktail or must it be purchased from a Disney bar on-site? Err, I'm asking for friend, heehee!

A couple of years ago we stayed in Boardwalk Inn not sure of the room number but it was in the building with rooms 1325-1340, walked out the patio door and over to the pool. My husband took an afternoon nap and I spent the time with my book at the pool. Hardly anyone was there, one day had the pool to my self. It was September so maybe that is another reason why it was so quiet. Last October we stayed at YC and went to the quiet pool and again hardly anyone was there using the pool. Depending on what type of cocktail you want you can always take something with you. I took a glass of wine one afternoon.

It is an expensive option, but the Four Seasons has a legit adult pool with lounge chair bar service. They have some very good rates right now.

My vote is for Old Turtle Pond at OKW. The Turtle Shack has coctails and food right by the pool. This is one of the quiet pools and is one of the best on property. We stayed there last year and honestly likeed this pool much better than the themed main pool. It is quiet and has all the amenities that the main pool has, minus the slide in to the pool. OKW is the original DVC resort, so you must think of the "quiet" pools as once their main pools. They are very spacious and have much less going on. We had cocktails while standing in the pool on many days, this is a Disney no-no, however DVC pools (outside the main pool) are monitored by DVC members. There are no lifeguards but it was never "busy" at anytime we were there (and we were there at 12pm, 3pm,5pm and 11pm). I think (and we have stayed at alot of Disney Resorts) that this was the best pool option for relaxing. FYI - Old Turtle Pond is an easy walk (10 min) to the main buildings (Olivias & The Gurgling Suitcase) at OKW or a short (like 3 min) internal bus ride.

We have enjoyed the quiet pool at YC many times. Our teens enjoy the quietness too and we tend to rotate going there with Stormalong Bay.
I’m right there with you on the cocktail in hand, so we usually just buy a couple beers from the market for the quiet pool trips. You can always take the outside walk/boardwalk and get a cocktail from Hurricane Hanna’s. It’s a very quick walk.
Also, there will most likely still be kids there and as someone else said sometimes parents not parenting.

I guess I should have phrased it better. Yes, I know there aren't any official quiet pools and any pool can be loud. But the quiet/leisure don't have the parties/activities and I think kids generally like going to the main pools. Of course, any pool can be loud. That's why I've also been eyeing Old Key West, Saratoga, and Port Orleans Riverside - they all appear to have multiple smaller pools, so if one is too loud, it isn't too much of an effort to get up and find another one (even though they are pretty spread out).

Thanks, this is great info!
Saratoga Springs has 5 pools yes, but one is in the treehouses (not a quick walk) and 3 of the other 4 have splash pads for youngsters. I wouldn’t suggest that route.

I don’t know why there would ever be a child at the quiet pools at Yacht or Beach. Beach has 2 quiet pools and a quick walk to the attached Yacht club pool. Beach Club would be my suggestion but you’ll have to bring a cocktail over from inside or Hurricane Hannas.

The Oasis pool at the Poly was really quiet last week. Even with ample kids in it. It wasn't rowdy at all.

Last time we stayed at BC, our room was on the first floor near the quiet pool. We could walk out our sliding doors and right over. Our kids were 12 and 14 and would swim in there every day while my husband and I had a drink on the patio. There were always other kids in there.

Why WOULDN'T there be kids in the quiet pools?
