Can anyone explain how the deluxe plan works? Is it 2 counter and 1 quick, or is it 1 counter and 2 quick? Or is up to us?

The deluxe plan has 3 credits per day...you can use them at quick (counter) service or table service locations. You also get 2 snack credits per day.

Quick service and counter service are the same thing. Table service are sit down restaurants that take ADRs.

Counter service and quick service are the same thing. It's like fast food. You wait on line, get your food and go sit yourself.
Table service is when you sit down and a server serves you or table service is also a buffet like a restaurant.

On the deluxe plan, you get 3 meals per night per person. You choose if you want sit down meals, buffets or counter (quick) service meals. In addition you get 2 snacks per night per person too. It's a lot of food.

So, for example if there are 3 people in your group, you each get 3 sit down meals or buffets per night of stay (not per day) or 3 quick service meals if your in a rush. You can mix and match too. So, maybe you want to do a buffet breakfast, a quick lunch and a sit down relaxing dinner. That is fine.

Each table service meal includes a appetizer per person, a entree per person, a dessert per person and a non alcoholic beverage per person. Kids must eat off the kids menu.

In addition, you each get a refillable mug at your resort gift shop so you can get free refills at your resort for your entire stay.

Here is a link to the official disney deluxe dining brochure. It lists lots more information and the restaurants that participate in the program. If you decide to do this though, make your ADR's (reservations) 6 months in advance by calling 1-407-828-8101.

I did discover on my latest question at buffets kids can eat off the adult buffet, just wanted to clairify

Just to be clear: so if you eat a signature restaurant everyday (ie one that costs 2 sit-down meal credits) it may be worth your while to go with the deluxe plan. Is that what you are saying?

Or to ask it another way: so those three credits you are given per day, you can use those at sitdown or counter meals?

sorry, newbie here.

You could do a signature restaurant every day, but then that would leave you without 1 credit for breakfast or lunch. But, you could use your 2 snacks to buy a muffin and a bottle of orange juice for breakfast instead!

I will warn you: the deluxe plan is a lot of food. I spent a long time trying to convince myself that it would be worth it for us. I can tell you, without a doubt, that it was not worth it. At least for us, it definitely wasn't. Each sit down takes at least an hour, and your plans can change from day to day. We would have spent more time traveling to our reservations and eating than actually enjoying the parks, so we ended up canceling 5 of our 13 ADRs. We did a lot of counter service instead. I can definitely say that we will never do the deluxe plan again.

why would you be without a credit for lunch on the deluxe plan? If you get 3 per day then there would be one left over after a signature meal PLUS two snack credits

That's exactly what I had told them. ;) If wasn't sure if they wanted to use ts for breakfast and lunch each day or not. That's why I recommended they use her 2 snack credits for breakfast, then they would still have a ts credit for lunch and 2 ts credits for dinner.

Or they could use a ts credit for breakfast, have a couple of snacks in the afternoon and then 2 ts credits for dinner.

But the fact remains that if they wanted to do a signature restaurant every night, then they can't do ts for breakfast and lunch each day. Then again, I don't know anyone that could do 3 ts each day their entire trip!!! :rotfl:

Thanks everyone I just wasn't sure because regular dining was 1 table and 1 counter service. We are going for 9 days so we can take advantage of a lot of the table service and enjoy the parks. I'm sure we will do one or two signature resturants so that will save some time with using quick service on those days. We are paying for everything in advance and got the money outta nowhere for upgrading to deluxe so we thought what the heck!! Thanks

Now my next question what would you recommend?

Signature?

Table?

we will probably try and do the french places since my wife is a french teacher.

Thanks again

It's really a good idea to do the signatures. I know for a fact that my family will have a difficult time doing 3 sit down meals per day (although I will try it one day on our next trip), so the signature thing makes sense. You could do a sit down buffet breakfast, then use your snacks for lunch time and then do a signature 2 credit meal as a early dinner around 6 or 7pm.

Yea we will probably try some kind of configuration like that. Now we have to figure out what resturants we wanna do. I'm thinking Boma for sure and some of the french places but other than that we are not sure. I've only stayed at Shades of Green and eaten at their buffet since it was part of the package.

That's how we used it - snack credits for breakfast if we wanted something to get us going (We're not breakfast people), a one credit lunch and a signature dinner. On an 11 night trip, we had 5 signature dinners, lunch at the castle, and room service twice. Between all those two credit meals and having a full day on our arrival and departure days, we didn't leave feeling like the deluxe plan was too many meals. We had quite a few snacks leftover that we used for take-home treats for the kids' friends, but we had no problem using the meal credits.

Our favorites from our Jan trip -

California Grill. Great food and an absolutely fabulous view! We had a window table and DD was picked to "start" the fireworks, and it was the single best evening of our trip. Of the signature restaurants we tried, this was easily our favorite.

Narcoosees - Nice, quiet atmosphere and lobster... What's not to like?

Tutto Italia - Best one credit meal Disney has to offer in my opinion. Excellent from start to finish. Try the rosa regale wine, it is wonderful!

Teppan Edo - Can't go wrong with a Japanese hibachi-style restaurant, really. Its my kids' favorite and a new must-do for our family.

Tusker House - I'm not a fan of buffets, but this was a nice surprise. Excellent service and interesting food. If you go, be sure to try the veggie wontons, they were amazing!

We're doing the deluxe plan this spring and we plan on eating at a signature restaurant every night.

We rarely eat at "fancy" restaurants at home, so it's really exciting for us. For us, dining is a huge part of our trip... we LOVE TS meals.

We will probably do a Sig. dinner every night, a TS lunch or breakfast, and then use the snacks to fill in the rest of the day.

I'm super excited!:cool1:

French places:

In Epcot, Les Chefs de France, or Bistro de Paris (a bit fancy)
You can see menus at

and you can see food pics here:

Some other favorites of mine are:
note-These are all Table service

Coral Reef at Epcot
Ohana at the Polynesian resort
Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary

I'll be trying these soon, but you might be intrested in some of them:
Tutto italia at Epcot
Teppan Edo at Epcot
California Grill at the Contemporary (2 credits)
Jiko at the Animal Kingdom lodge (2 credits)
Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian (2 credits)
Le Cellier at Epcot (if you like steak)
Yachstaman steakhouse (again, if you like steak, 2 credits)

Only Les Chefs De France is on the DDP. Bistro De Paris is not. Just a heads up. Les Chefs is VERY good BTW.

I did deluxe during free dining and it was a lot of food. But we did have a signature dinner every night so it was really worth our while. We ate at Narcoosees, Jiko, Artist Point, Yatchsman Steakhouse. It was wonderful!
