Well, my husband got online and wants to book the Deluxe package through Disney that includes the 3 meals a day and lenght of stay passes.

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips, pros and cons, to this type of package. TIA! :)

The deluxe package is worth it if you take advantage of all or most of what is offered.

I had a friend who did the deluxe and was thrilled at the price that he got. We booked everything ourselves. When I told him what we spent he was surprised that we spent so much less. Even though his included tons of extras, he never got a chance to to take advantage of most of them. Not enough time!

His was easier to book. It offered a lot more. It was much more expensive. You may want to make sure that you can take advantage of all the plan has to offer. If you can then go for it!

We have used the all inclusive packages before and I agree with jdads2 that you really have to utilize a lot of the extra's for it to be worth it. We aren't breakfast eaters and the only recreational item we usually use are the water mouse boats.

As a matter of fact we booked through AAA a room and park entrance only package for end of august. I then read up on this board and learned about annual pass discounts. I re-booked our room (AKL Concierge) with the AP rate, bought one AP and one PH and saved $900. That alone should pay for our meals and extras. I think you should check out Mousesavers and see what the individual pieces would cost and compare.

I've done the Grand Plan twice. I loved it, we had a great time on it ... but I don't think I would do it again.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from doing it. But you will really have to "work it" to have it pay .. to have it be worth it. My son and I are golfers, so we took a couple private lessons, played golf; I took advantage of the spa a few times; I parasailed, went tubing; rented Water Mice; ate tons of big, sit down meals at all the finer restaurants; etc etc etc. In other words, did a lot of non park things as well as park things. I've been going to WDW since it opened, and will continue going in years to come, so I don't feel the need to be rushing around every waking moment spending time in a park. But if that's what you like to do, then I'd definitely say DON'T do a package like this.

I hope this made sense! LOL

I've been on the Deluxe or Grand Plan nearly every trip. We kept our reciepts once and found out we actually saved money. You do need to eat well and take advantage of recreation. The best I had was 11 days so there was plenty of time to go horsebackriding, take out water sprites, play tennis, golf, etc. It really makes you feel pampered though and you don't have to worry about having money on hand to pay for meals. We love to splurge at mealtime, with everyone getting dessert so it works well. Next year I think we are going to try a vacation without the plan though to save money.
