Deluxe in the past now trying Value!

In January we did a split stay at WL and AKL. In May I went solo and did a split stay of two nights at POP, five nights BWV studio, and a final two nights at POP. I was pleasantly surprised at POP. I loved it and had no trouble returning to it after my five nights in a BWV studio. I was in the fifty's section, in a corner room, right next to the stairwell on the third floor, and only a couple of minutes from the main building. I was closer than most of the people in the preferred building (60's). I guess because of their strollers most people with kids used the elevators instead of the stairs, so it was very quiet where I was at. I liked it so much, that when I returned after five nights at BWV I asked for the same area and got the exact same room. As I was coming out of my room that afternoon, I met another lady that had just checked in going into the room right next door. She was also traveling solo, so it was very quiet again. Reading about the noise issues I had carried a white noise machine and plan to do so again when I return in Sept. The biggest noise issues I had was at the AKL in January when we had the kid from h-ll next door who went to bed screaming and woke up screaming and beating on our wall early every morning.

As far as POP goes it just seemed like a very happy, fun place. The CMs were so nice and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. The people staying there also seemed to be friendly and just happy to be at WDW. Put it this way, I liked POP so much that I'm staying there again in Sept because I want my son and D-I-L to experience the magic I felt there. I had originally planned to take them to POFQ or CS, but after talking about it, we all wanted to go to POP instead. I'm going back in Dec and will probably rent DVC points at BCV or BWV for Sun-Thurs nights (because of the Epcot/MGM location), but will spend the weekends at POP and am looking forward to it.

I did this on our last trip - 1 night at ASSp and the rest (8) at Poly. We were very surprised with the ASSp and would stay there in a heartbeat. We've stayed mostly at Mods. If you know what to expect with the Values (they will never come close to the Deluxes, so it's pointless to compare), you'll certainly enjoy it.

They're not for 'romantic getaways' (they're filled with families and children). But this is something that everyone knows coming in.

The ASMu is a little quieter than the Sports or Movies (those have themeing more appealing to children), and I've heard that certain sections of POP are quite nice and fun.

Enjoy!

I generally stay at the Deluxes (and when I go with my husband he will only stay at one of the Epcot resorts), but I have stayed at all of the All Stars on solo trips. It really does depend on what you are looking for - I found the AS to be finefor me when I was trying to stretch more trips out of an AP (and I did get 6 trips out of that AP!) - it was just so much less expensive then the Deluxes. I liked the food courts and found the bus service to be pretty good. If you like spend most of your time at the parks, I would say try a value. If, however, the resort experience is an important part of your trip (sitting out on your balcony, walking to a park, etc.), then you might be in for a serious let down. (Since I was by myself, the room and bed size didn't bother me)
