Deluxe Extra Nighttime Hours

Has anyone used these hours while staying at Shades of Green? What did you use to prove you were staying there? We will have magic bands but not sure it will show up there.

We did not stay at SoG. However, they scanned the MagicBands of everyone in our party for each ride at both MK and Epcot. Does your SoG reservation sync up to your MDE?

We’re at Shades now and going to Epcot Evening Hours tomorrow. We’ve been told they’ll just scan our magic bands (our reservation is linked on MDE) but we’re bringing our little bus pass they give you just in case. I’ll let you know if we have any trouble!

We just got back from SOG. We used the EMH on Wednesday night. They scan your magic bands. As long as you have your SOG reservation linked in MDE, you are good to go!

Thanks for posting! Did you link yours on My Disney Experience, or did you have to call? It’s saying reservation does not exist through MDE.

I link it myself in MDE. I've never had a problem linking a SOG reservation. It usually takes a day or two after you've made the reservation for MDE to recognize the number.

We looked at EMHs the way we would utilize them pre Covid. With young kids we only utilized the first hour and at Epcot we maybe got in 1-2 rides. Now we’d rather just pay for Genie+ and book a relaxing ADR Instead. After waking up everyday at 6:30 am, we’re too tired to stay in the parks too late, esp. Since transportation takes over an hour at MK.

Hello! We are set to go to to world the end of May - the week leading up to Memorial Day weekend. It is my family of 4 - Me and hubby, DD 19 and DS 17 and Autistic. We are staying at the Boardwalk with no park hoppers - and I won't pay for them.

We haven't been to Disney in 10 years and the are going now to take my daughter to the new Star Wars Land. We arrive on Sunday and aren't planning to go to a park and leaving the following Saturday - again no park.

My plan was HS Monday, Epcot Tues, MK Thurs. AK Friday - Wednesday no park. I am wondering if I should switch to my days to make use of the extended hours? (Epcot Monday and MK Wed) However, if I did that we would need to switch our resort day to either Tues or Thurs and we would be on the go a lot. However, it might be worth it if we can get a lot accomplished.

We have stayed on site before but have always avoided the magic hours because my kids were not night owls. Thanks so much for any feedback.

We used Extended Evening hours at the beginning of December when we stayed at Wilderness Lodge. It was pretty quiet for us. Some rides we planned on though (Jungle Cruise) were closed. So make sure to check the list of open rides. We did get to ride SD Mine Train twice though. It was almost walk on. The early morning entry was really busy. Only able to get one E ticket ride each morning we went into the parks.

Your question has been merged with the Deluxe Extra Nighttime Hours thread. Lots of great information and experiences shared here.

If you have access to the extended evening hours, definitely use them. Wait times are dramatically lower during the EEH, and you can get a lot done at both parks.

I would suggest Epcot Monday, HS Tuesday, MK Wednesday, rest day on Thursday, and AK on Friday.

I wonder how long they will continue to give extended hours for deluxe resorts. I’m hoping we can do them our next trip.

Same as fairestoneofall said, it can take a couple days for MDE to recognise it. My dad had to change the booking with SOG (as he accidentally made it for one), and while our reservation number stayed the same, it took MDE a couple of days before it recognised the change in the guest count.

As long as you have your SOG resort ID (that they give you at check in and you use around the resort/on SOG transport) with you for the extra hours, you should be fine. That's what we used for proof of eligibility for EMH on pre-COVID trips, and this past December was the first time they swiped our magicbands instead. When approaching the first CM I said we were from SOG and asked if she wanted our resort ID or magicband, and she said the MB was fine, but it was good we had both as sometimes the MB readers act up.

BIG CHANGE! Now posted through the end of March, MK's extended hours will be Tuesday instead of Wednesday the last week of March. Hours for the park are not yet posted for that week but we can assume it will probably be a 9 PM closing at MK and Epcot each night too.

How are the wait times for Frozen and Remy during the extra night hours? With people being about to get in line right at regular closing, do you have to wait until later for the wait to die down?
