Deluxe Extra Nighttime Hours

How does the deluxe extra nighttime hours work if it’s your check out day? For instance, you can use the pools and things till midnight of your checkout day is my understanding. If we checked out of our deluxe hotel on Wednesday morning, would we be eligible for those extra hours Wednesday night??

That's an interesting question.

The verbiage from the WDW website reads "Extended evening theme park hours is a benefit for registered Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts..."

Just guessing here, but to my thinking the operative phrase is "stayING at," not "stayED at," so I'm guessing that as you will have checked out, you won't be eligible. But for your enjoyment I hope I'm wrong.

My interpretation would be the opposite. Everything else with Disney (park reservations, dining credits when they existed, parking, etc.) have always allowed a guest checking out access to these things up until 11:59:59pm the day they check out. I really don't see the Extra Nighttime Hours being different and believe you would be allowed to access the park with ENHs.

I asked a CM about this on the phone and it didn't sound like they had a specific policy at that point, but he said he believed that I would be able to take advantage even though it is on my check out day, i'm moving from Contemporary to Pop on that date.

Hmm. That should be interesting to see since your magic band and anything like your MDE would show you as a Pop guest after you check in that day. Also I’d wonder if they’d have buses running to Pop after the extra hours. Please keep us informed and I sure hope you can enjoy it.
I would say that if you weren’t actually checking in at Pop (say going to a offsite hotel and therefore your magic band would still say the Contmp, or if you delay checking in for POP) that maybe that would work. Would probably be exhausting to check in after the extra hours though😫

I guess it depends on what is showing to prove to the actual CMs at the park during EMH. If they’ve already Check into POP her MB and MDE will show as a Pop guest???

When I've done split stays, even after I've checked into the second resort and my band unlocks the room, magic band charges have gone onto the first resort folio, so I'm not sure how it would read when scanned- maybe it shows both?

While they may be checked into Pop, in the past this did not change what they were eligible for the day they checked out of the other resort.

I had friends who had a split stay and only had the dining plan on the first half of their stay. Even though they had switched resorts, checked into their new resort and into the parks, they were still able to access their dining plan credits for the (now checked-out) portion of their first stay, until midnight of their checkout day.

I really can't see why this would work any differently.

Agree.

As @Thumper99 pointed out, transportation to POP afterwards will be an issue. Buses will not be running there. Uber/Lyft might be your only choice for getting back to your resort that night.

Agree.
I don’t disagree that they are entitled to it for sure but I’m wondering how they’d prove they are at deluxe resort if the bands and MDE say something else. I’m hoping for those who have this situation that the MB and the MDE say the deluxe resort. Maybe the system will recognize that it’s the last day at the resort. Ive not ever noticed what it says in the app when doing a split stay. Does it show your new resort or the old?? Im sure we will hear from people on this soon!!

Or they could go to Disney springs maybe and probably switch there???
That would depend on what time they left the park. Disney Springs closes at 11 PM on weekdays. There may not be buses traveling to DS that late. But if they are running, the OP would probably have to go to a resort to catch one.

I have talked to 2 different CM as we have been given access to a planning specialist due to a disasterous experience in Aug. They checked with a supervisor and were told if you check out on Wed ... habe a Epcot park reservation for that day at Epcot you will have access until to evening hours.

We would be checking out at the Dolphin and checking into CBR. I was hoping that I could show my room key and reservation for the Dolphin to use those hours and then go back to CBR that night.

My whole scenario could have been avoided if Disney had just left extra hours alone for all resort guests! Lol My room at CBR costs MORE than the Dolphin room but since Dolphin gets ENH, I’m considering doing a split stay this for alone. And no deluxe Disney resort can come close in price to Dolphin bc I need 5 in my room. (Disney apparently gets to tell me where my 3 year old who loves his pack and play can/can’t sleep, but don’t get me started!) 🤣😡😩

Yay!! Great!! I hope that works smoothly.

The added challenge is that buses do not run from the parks to DS right now so guests would need to travel to a resort, then to DS (if buses are running) and then to Pop. That's a lot to do late at night and probably, long waits.

I agree with @Marionette that Uber/Lyft would probably be needed.
Your resort perks expire at midnight of checkout day. Buses continue to run to service resorts even for these extra hours.
Yes except they will be trying to get to a resort that has been closed to those guests for 3 hours. A bus may come but they would need to be noticed waiting in the queue and wait however long for Disney to send a bus for them as they're going to a resort that is not included in the ENHs.

We are switching resorts on Wed to go from YC to Coronado Springs Tower. We plan to take a bus to the nearest hotel and then do an uber from there. Buses more than likely will not run to any resorts that are not classified as deluxe.

I'm curious about this as well. Won't be going until next year but with the
costs of Deluxe will be doing split stay. Correct me if i'm wrong but
Universal also has the benefit of unlimited pass even on checkout day?
