can you use one of the credits for breakfast? been reading on all ears that you can only use for lunch and dinner, i'm so confused:confused3

thanks in advance :)

we were looking at the regular but was worried that u would still have to pay OOP for some meals, to be honest im just so confused :confused3

will have a look at you link thank you :thumbsup2

I am 20 stone and like my food, just look at my live thread from last month http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2771370
This was our 3rd trip doing DDP, it is more than enough food IMO. Martin (burt) had plenty of credits left over, they could not use them all.
We had to use up 20 snack credits on bags of candy to bring home, there was no way we could eat a snack every day ontop of the meals.

To want Deluxe you need to seriously eat and do a lot of 2 credit meals.
I would do the regular DDP and pay for anything you need to ontop(doubt it will be much) Its a lot of money to upgrade to Deluxe.

Agree, the DDP provides an enormous amount of food. Last year we ended up using 18 snack credits at the F&W festival and we still had credit left over at the end of the holiday!

While that may be true, it will still be cheaper to pay OOP for that one meal (make it breakfast where you get the least value for a dining credit) than to pay the extra £20 odd per person per day for the DxDDP. You can use snack credits to supplement your OOP meals. A snack at Disney can often serve as a meal, especially for breakfast. Furthermore, even if you get free dining, paying to upgrade to the DxDDP is going to make you conscious of trying to justify what you paid for the upgrade and you will almost certainly find your schedule heavily rigid and almost completely dictated by ADRs. If you are planning several signature meals and/or dinner shows, want at least 2 full sit down meals per day and always order at least one dessert and an appetizer (even if two of you sometimes share one of these), then the DxDDP makes sense for you. It IS the answer for some people but really, I can't imagine eating that much food. As Wayne says, the regular DDP is a lot of food as is. And that doesn't come with an appetizer with every meal, let alone dessert, a drink and TWO snacks per person per day.

Where are you going to be staying? If you are at a moderate or deluxe resort, you will have a fridge in your room. You can save desserts (like fruit pots, muffins and pastries) from your CS meal and keep them in the room fridge.

I still think that if your main objective for considering the Deluxe plan is to save buying breakfast OOP, you are much better just forking out for what you want in the mornings. Or buy/order in some cereal and milk for your room.

We've only ever done ddp.

What works well for us on ddp is a snack in the room for breakfast , an early QS lunch say 11am, and TS dinner

or TS character brekkie and QS tea.

You can use snack credits for breakfast, or buy some bits for the room like cereal bars (use garden grocer if you have no car) or get dessert to go and eat for breakfast.

Used fully ddp is alot of food.

People who do dxddp tend to do alot of 2 TS meals I think.

hi

thank you all for helping me decide :) we are only there for 1 week so i have decided to go with the quick service plan or the disney dining (with the waiter service) instead of the deluxe....we already have paid for CRT too

wayneg, i will go and read your lil trippie :)

2tiggies, we are staying at pop but might look into the fridge hire!!

dixonsontour, sound like a good plan to me the way you have done the plan :thumbsup2

the deluxe does seem like a lot of food and i think you will be marching round making sure we ate instead of enjoying what magic disney has to offer!!

thank you all again for your inputs everyone :)

You may not need to hire a fridge. I haven't checked out the link myself but someone has just posted that values will have fridges in all the rooms for no extra charge as of the end of the month. So it looks like that is one problem soled for you :cool1:

the regular DDP was too much food for us and we're REALLY big eaters!!!

i can't imagine trying to eat all the food on the deluxe dining plan...

It's not just the volume of food - it's the TIME it takes :scared1: Every TS meal you go to you have to stop what you are doing x amount of time before, check in 10 minutes early, wait to be seated, eat, wait to pay and then get where you want to be. It can easily kill 2 hours.

this is exactly what we thought when we were trying to get ressies at different places, it would have taken up so much time plus the fact we are only going for a week

Unless you plan on doing all Signature (2 credit) or Dinner Shows, it's going to be almost impossible to get your money's worth. We had the regular dining plan (stayed at Pop Century and upgraded for $250 from the Quick Service plan) and we still had to cash out 22 snack credits in the food court before catching the bus back to the airport. We are a family of 4, who does eat a lot, but there was no way we could eat all that food. I gained 10lbs in 2 weeks!!!! Not kidding!!! Also, it's very expensive to upgrade to Deluxe. I believe it was about $750 additional for 4 (2 adults, 2 kids).

very true!!!
you know how much time we killed at 1900 park fare one night?
our reservation was at 7:20.....which means we had to leave whatever we were doing a half hour before that to get there...
then we had to stand in line for 35 minutes just to check in....
and then we had to wait 90 minutes to be seated...
our reservation was at 7:20 and we were seated at 9:30!!!
and didn't get out of there until 10:30....an entire evening on a restaurant!!

:scared1: Hope that doesn't happen to us when we go there for breakfast!! We have a first seating reservation so hopefully they will be more or less on time!

be there early, so that you're the first ones in line...
after an hour, i went up to complain - the CM said that the restaurant was terribly overbooked our night...she said that 1900 park fare typically gets 50% no shows, so they overbook it so that they're sure it will be filled...
but on our night, everyone showed up....so they were running terribly late....
