Deluxe Dining Plan - can kids order table service off of adult menu?

I've read this In a couple of places but can't find an official policy. Can my eight year old use his deluxe credit to order say filet at Le Cellier, or duck at Les Chefs, both of which are only offered on the adult menu? Is this allowed at both 1 and 2 credit table service locations? A kids meal doesn't fill him up anymore, and while he is somewhat fussy, being able to order off of the adult menu would give us many more options for him!!! We've never done a dining plan but are looking at mostly table service meals including many character meals and buffets with two children, so wondering if the deluxe plan might make sense for this trip. Thanks.

Officially the dining plan information still says that children must order off the kids menu. In our experience last October, we did have a child order off the adult menu when we asked. There have been other reports of this as well, but you can't count on it.

With two kids and a lot of buffets and character meals, the deluxe plan may make sense for you. We find it especially makes sense if you have a few 2 TS meals planned.

It depends on the location. My daughter ordered off the adult menu at Le Cellier, Yak and Yeti, CRT, Chefs de France, but we were told no at Cali Grill and Jiko. When I spoke to guest relations after the trip, I was told that the official policy is that they are to order off the kids menu, but that they leave it up to the restaurant.

The deluxe plan made sense for us because of all the character meals. We will not be doing many in the future so won't go with the deluxe again. It was just too much food!
