Deluxe Dining Dilemna...to do it or not?

We have never felt like it was too much food. if you are worried about that, my recommendation would be to schedule a late breakfast/early lunch and then a Signature Dinner. That uses up your 3 credits per day, and allows you to have more rest time in between meals.

That's almost exactly what we'll be doing for our next trip, and our first on the DlxDDP.

We'll be going for a short stay at the Parks after a 7-night cruise. I don't know if we could eat that way for 7+ days (our 'usual' Disney vacation), but for our short 3-night stay it works perfectly. We'll be hitting a few signatures we've passed on before since it would've required foregoing a TS on another day w/ 'regular' DDP - like CRT. We're still only sitting down to eat 2x/day, but burning credits w/ signatures and 'saving' one for b'fast the day we check out (we'll be driving, so no rush, but no park tickets; we'll probably just do Chef Mickey's).

I'm *REALLY* looking forward to it! :thumbsup2

I learned a little trick.

We book our first night and get the Deluxe dining. We then book several nights without any plan. I can eat a lot, and it is impossible to eat three table service meals for more than one or two nights. I have the Tables in Wonderland Card, and it does save over any plan. With our one night Deluxe dining, we do the Hoop Dee Doo the first night (2TS), then a nicer table service the next night. You have until midnight of your check our date to use the credits. For the second night, we have done dinner at the Kona Cafe and Les Chefs. You get an appetizer with the Deluxe. You also get two snacks per person. The cost of the plan (3 adults and 1 child) was $246.00. We purchased meals and snacks totaling $364.00. (Without the tax and tip. I did not include tax and tip in my comparison, because with the Tables in Wonderland card the tax a tip brings the actual cost of the meal only a couple bucks more than the price for the food.)

Rather than the Hoop Dee Doo, you could also do another signature restaurant like Narcoossee's (very good) or California Grill (excellent). You would save even more with one of these signature restaurants. On our last trip, we went to the California Grill for the first time. It has now become one of my favorite restaurants anywhere on Earth. It is now a must for every future visit. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere is totally cool, and the staff is so nice. Getting to see the fireworks is the icing on the cake. I loved it.

Have fun,
