In case anyone was interested, my friends just booked a flight on Delta - in mid November from Boston to Orlando for $277 per person. These flights had been showing $1027 per person for months now. She had been checking the prices daily and last week it was $447 per person.

I tried to check various dates in November to see if the rates have come down and they have but some are still high. So anyone traveling in November or December keep checking the prices daily to see if you can catch a good price.

IMHO, I don't think we are going to see the $177 rt due to gas prices this year, but I could be wrong. But regardless $277 is still a good price.

good luck!!

I can't believe how expensive this is! We bought round trip tickets from Providence to MCO (with 1 stop in Philly) for the end of November - $163 each. I bought them in early January.

$277 is a great price. As you said, the old $177 fares are gone, victims of skyrocketing jet fuel prices. We need to start considering ourselves lucky if we can get our airfare for anything less than $300 roundtrip.

Guess I should feel lucky about my $105 r/t tickets from MHT-MCO with Southwest for our trip the end of this month. We've never paid any more than $150 r/t but I suppose I'm going to have to get used to higher fares in the very near future.

Here in OK, i would love to see 150.00 RT! That is still very cheap considering the cost of gas. I spent 50.00 in gas this weekend going back & forth to OKC to go shopping & visit my mom!

I am a die hard priceline user. Last year I got R/T from Tampa to Boston for $95.00 PER ticket !!!!! I am sure it will be a little more now but I would bet never more then 150.

I would bet never more then 150.
Never say never. If fuel prices stay where they are, it'll happen.

LOL, yes I take that back, I just tryed to get a weekend flight for the end of may and went to 150. with no luck. :confused3

Fuel prices just hit an all-time high. Expect even higher airfares in the months to come.

I'm waiting for JetBlue November fares. If they're $277 like they're October fares, I'm booking!!! I'd much rather fly JB than Delta.

For our upcoming trip in early December, we found (and booked!) five tickets from PVD to MCO (connect in ATL) on Northwest for a total of $880 :cool1: ...Had to grab this price, especially since my airfare budget was $1,000...Funny how I found that prices fluctuated depending on the time of day I was shopping prices! I checked our same flights the next morning and it was over $1,400 for the exact same reservation! :confused3 I booked at 1:00 a.m. and was happy to do so afterall! :thumbsup2

I found airfare for $778 for four of us on Allegiant aiir out of Worcester. I know it only goes to Sanford but November 20-30 the complete amt of airfare and car rental is only $1011. :cool1: It is $89/1way. Manchester flights also seem to be cheaper than Boston when I was looking. I was going to wait for SW and JetBlue but I don't think they will do any better than that. Good luck to all!!!

Hi,

I just saw airfare on Jet blue for 89.00 each way. ( Boston to Mco) I was looking for a flight for the end of September/October. Check it out! Maybe there is some hope for November flights as well! Good luck all! :wizard: :cheer2:

in mid November from Boston to Orlando for $277 per person.

Actually that's a really expensive fare from BOS-MCO. While I usually advocate purchasing tickets asap, I would have waited for JetBlue to release their Nov schedule to see if I could get a cheaper fare.

I checked JetBlue as far out as possible (Oct), for flights in Oct and I also found that they were offering $89.00 each way.

Wow $277 for one way? When are they going?

I was able to get a one way ticket from BOS to MCO for 189.80 nonstop flight and that is on Thanksgiving day. (Cheapseats.com).

My return flight is thru Priceline and that is for $124.00 nonstop flight.

I was going to try Alegiant Air but they wanted $224 one way on the 11/23 and I wasn't sure if they would cancel the flight (the seats looked empty) and I knew I could get a better price. If I wanted to change my dates I could have gotten $89 one way.

I was hoping that Jet Blue was going to have their schedule out so I could check their prices but I didn't want to chance on not having a flight out before I booked my hotel since it is a holiday. I like to have everything booked around the same time.

I bought out Delta tix for Boston-MCO in March (not knowing that they might strike! :rotfl: )and paid $177 per person round trip non-stop for Sept.29 w/ a return Oct. 4th... .the same flight is now going for $257 and I'm sure it'll go up more as the time approaches......

We have our return booked on Delta for November; booked the one-way non-stop Mon. 11/27, for $87.50 each. :thumbsup2

We are still waiting to book the outbound leg of that trip, and it's either gonna be the Saturday or Friday before Thxgiving (17th or 18th). Until recently, Delta has been looking for >$500 for the one-way non-stop, which has come down to $219 (incl Tax). Even if it's slightly more, I am still gonna wait for JetBlue on this one, since I would prefer to have the TVs available on the flight, esp for the kids; plus the service is great (I am really missing Song already). I guess we'll see what happens when JetBlue releases the November schedule. :bored: :snail:

Glad they are coming down a bit for people. I got mine in February at $177 r/t Boston to Orlando and non stops. I am SO glad I booked when I did!

The $277 is round trip for Thanksgiving week.

Even though I don't think this is a great fare, its better than it has been for the past 3 months.

We also booked Delta in March from Boston to MCO for $177 RT. The next morning the tickets went up $30.00. Now the same flights (sort of, they changed the times a little) are going for $277. Sometimes you just have to book it when it looks good.
