We flew Delta to WDW for the first time a couple of weeks ago (we usually fly Southwest or American). All of our flights were on time, and the gate staff was very helpful and courteous and efficient as was the on board flight staff. HOWEVER, they did switch our flight times more than once. Our return flight wound up changed to be getting in somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half later than when I booked it. Not only that but they changed our seats around from what I had booked as seat selections both coming to WDW and going home- which is how I know that the gate staff was helpful and courteous. Going, they switched our seats after our boarding passes were printed. DH went up to gate check the stroller and got "HMMM, something isn't right here", and then he called the rest of us over and we found out that they had moved our seats after we got our boarding passes without without letting us know - otherwise, we would not have known until we attempted to get on the plane with our boarding passes and they sent us back to the counter instead of letting us on. On the way back, they split us up...which I wouldn't have cared about except DD is 5. They were very good about getting us put back together; however we went from near the front of the plane to the next to the last row. The most important thing to remember is that if you plan to check in your luggage at the WDW resort on your way home, that you can NOT check in to your flight the day before on your own or through the concierge, or Delta will lock you out of checking your bags at the resort. The bag check in counter at the resort must be the one to check you in and print your boarding passes the day of your flight. They don't tell you that either. As we have always flown American and Southwest and have always checked into the flight the previous day and resort checked our bags the next day, we made that mistake and it was completely annoying that for the first time in a few years we had to carry our own bags back to the airport. According to all the staff, it is a Delta quirk and it happens all the time. DH swears he isn't flying Delta to WDW again because of that one.
