I need some more advice. I posted a question for Southwest, but I'm curious about this:

Does Delta through Travelocity assign seats when booking? Also, is there a fee involved for using Travelocity?

Thanks!

I first booked thru travelocity 2 years ago for WDW on Delta. I did pick a seat online, but when we got the tickets, it said to get seat at check-in. I was able to call Delta directly for seats. I did find it easiest to just join the Delta freq. travels club and then you can view your interaries at delta.com, and change your seat assignment anytime you like. I check it all the time to find out how full the flight is and if our times have changed, which they have done in the past. I was not charged a fee for using travelocity. I would use them again, but delta every year has dropped the price of the tickets i have and i keep getting vouchers, so i have to book directly with delta to use them. So far, no problems.

I found it on there. I guess it was just easier to save my choices in Travelocity. Do you get the FF miles through them?

Im not sure if there is a place to put your FF miles on travelocity, but if not, just call delta and have them attach your res to it. I signed up for the FF after i bought our first tickets on Trav and got the credit and thats how i was able to see the seats on the delta site.

Well, I made the ressies via Delta website. Pretty easy although I was in a hurry and was nervous. I got roundtrip from IND to MCO for $120. I flew with those prices 13 yrs ago! I hope everything goes okay. I'm nervous about ticketless flights. As I said, DD and I needed transportation to the airport so I rented a limo. She will be so excited as she has always wanted to ride in one (she's 9). It was only $15 more than a van ride.

I'v never had a problem with ticketless travel. I find it much more convenient than having to worry about tickets. I pack a copy of the e-ticket in my carry-on and one in my checked luggage, just for my peace of mind.

Definately PREbook your seating arrangements. I just had a travel nightmare, after reading and talking with several people, they said it did not matter if you prebooked your seats since Delta doesn't use them anyway, so we didn't. Actually, when the screen came up to book the seat, they didn't have five together, so I didn't bother anyway.

Well, when we went to check in, we had the hardest time getting any seats, since we were not PREbooked. We actually had to wait on all three flights until everyone boarded and THEN they could see what seats were open. Kinda crazy, since it is all in the computer anyway. Then to top it off, they couldn't find more than two seats together. One flight, they had a very hard time getting two seats together which I have to have due to a child travelling.

So, any way you can do it, Do make sure you prebook your seats.

Kel: I feel so badly for you. So you are saying you wouldn't have had any problems with the internet ticketless tix if you had booked your seats along with the flight? I did book the seats as well.

I have another unrelated question. Is anyone seeing the pix of my dog at the bottom of my posts? Really weird, sometimes its there and sometimes its not.
