We will be flying to Vancouver in September and I have reserved two hotels but I would love personal reviews if you have stayed in either one. It’s myself, hubby, 19yo son and 16yo daughter. We ideally would like to be able to walk to the port with our luggage. Thanks for any advice!

We stayed at Delta Suites last summer and it was great. The rooms were big and clean, the restaurant made us some really nice yellow curry, and everyone was very friendly. Free cookies when you check in, too!

It's definitely close enough to the train station and the port to walk without any trouble. There are some good restaurants and shops nearby and if you're heading out to Stanley Park or Granville Island, then the bus stops to go there are also very close.

I've stayed at other Delta Suites in Canada, and they're usually very nice. I imagine the Vancouver location will be great.

Was very happy with Delta Suites.
Easy walk from the canada station with our luggage.
Easy walk to port.

We stayed at Blue Horizon. I recently recommended it to someone else who just returned and was really happy with the stay. It sounds like both are great bets. I would go with the better price, personally. Blue Horizon wasn't walkable. That said, we paid a really tiny amount of money for a cab.

We have stayed at the Blue Horizon and liked it a lot. The room was huge. Here is the view from our room. We took a cab to the port.

Last year we stayed at the Auberge Vancouver. It was more expensive than the Blue Horizon but we could walk to the port. We had a suite, there was lots of room, and we were able to watch the ship sail into port.

We just stayed for two nights at the Delta Suites in Vancouver. It was one of our favorite hotel rooms ever. It was a comfortable suite with a separate living room (desk, couch, TV) and bedroom with its own door. All the rooms were separated from each other with an internal hallway.

We took the Skytrain from the airport. The Waterfront station is just a few blocks away from the hotel. Very easy. Although one piece of advice is to look for the street-level lobby entrance on Seymour Street, rather than the entrance on West Hastings. The West Hastings entrance has stairs (no elevator) to go up one level, which was not easy with all our heavy luggage.

The walk to port was also very convenient. It only took about 5-7 minutes. Definitely would stay there again for an Alaskan cruise.

Thank you all! I think given the extra room and the walkability to the port, we will go with the delta suites. No sharing of a bed for brother sister which is a wonderful thing in their eyes! It’s only about $100 more so we will pay that to make sure everyone is comfortable for the two nights. I appreciate all the advice.

We stayed at Blue Horizon and we did like the room and the street it was which was great for exploring and eating (a bit touristy though). My main complaint was the elevators took forever. There were 3 elevators for what looked to be around 40 floors? We only stayed one night but it took so long for an elevator to come that wasn't full! Check out in the morning was the worst trying to fit in with suitcases and such, probably passed by 3 full elevators before we were able to get down.
