Ok I have bad luck. I am looking this as the glass is empty. I am stuck in orlando with my DS7 and no way home. My flight home is Delta. Delta just said STRIKE or OUT of BUSINESS.

So I was thinking what if I put in for a one way from MCO to BOS rental Car. I just checked and I have driven it before 22 hours with many rest stops. Just checked and the cost is between $47 to $57. Economy to full size. Unlimited miles. I would have to pay for the gas. I could bring a car seat in my luggage. I can forgo the ins. My CC has suplimental for free on Rentals. What is the usual cancelation terms fees? I have never rented before.

So what do U think? Am I missing anything? :moped:

Is it that bad an idea no one will respond? :confused3

Someone must have some more info or have a reason why this will/wont work :teacher:

I know that there have been several people on the board that have already done just this. Their cars have been 'reserved' just in case.

I have a rental reserved for my return trip to KC as my flights are on Delta (4/28-5/6). It never hurts to have a plan B . . . I sure hope I don't need a plan B, though!

We (along with several others that have posted here) have done just that. There is no cancellation fee unless you are reserving under one of the rental companies special programs (Emerald, PrePay or such) where a CC is on file to reserve. Then you would have to check the policy of that particular program. But, even if you are in a program, just reserve without using it.

Hey, maybe if enough of us Mass folks end up in rental cars for the drive home, we can have ourselves a convoy :goodvibes .

we have a reservation with avis. there is no credit card needed to make the reservation. Hopefully they really hold the car, when there are 500 people front of us in line asking for cars.

I like the convoy idea. We could help each other not get lost. Guess I missed the other posts on the subject. Thanx for the replies I will look at the other posts.
