Delta Skymiles

Has any one tried using DL skymiles in the summer. We are debating a quick weekend in March which I can get the skysaver miles but no skysavers are coming up in June or July. Is this typical ? What do you guys think? I have never booked a ticket with miles. Help!!!

Yup, hubby's work has shutdown over July 4th week so we always vacation that week. We've had luck the past three years on that week going to Denver, Miami and Cancun - all on regular skymiles. We also used them to go to Spain last April when the kids were on vacation, and will be using them again on our trip in January to WDW.

You just need to be a little flexible in your times. Good luck!

Try calling Delta Skymiles and speak directly to an agent. We were trying to use miles next summer to go to Canada and could not find any availability on-line. I finally called Skymiles out of frustration and was quite surprised when the agent quickly found SkySaver seats for all 6 members of my family in the desired time frame. Our outbound trip is on Continental (using Delta miles) and our return trip is on Delta.
