OMG I just went through a nightmare booking spring break tickets on Delta which had lower fares today. It was cheaper than Southwest...I had waited for those fares today. We are flying from IND to PHX. We each had 2 transportation vouchers to use so a total of 8. I found 2 low fares of $241 and 2 were $304 (I learned to check or I would have paid $304 each so thanks to disboards I learned to put 2 in and then go up to see how many lower fares left). I spent 3 HOURS online and on the phone getting the tickets. I had issues with the certificates not going through....took 45 minutes and talking to online customer support to get the 2 low fares for my son and myself (knew to do 1 adult and 1 child per reservation). Then comes hubby and older son....the nightmare continues. ...won't let me book them...continually get to purchase after entering 15 digit certificate numbers 4 times. Then it says system error. Call online support after 3 times....rudely tells me my computer and browser...wrong cause I purchased shortly before from that computer. Then call reservations to just purchase and paY $20....they are telling me low fares not $304 but $384...OMG....can't do that. Explain online issues and supervisor said she can't negotiate airfare and is so rude. At this point have to get kids from school and am frantic and in tears....so I finally get home and individually do 2nd son and hubby so am holding 3 reservation numbers. FINE...till I see we are all on same flights except younger son and I leave for Salt Lake CIty at 11AM and hubby and older son leave at 1PM...we all connect on same flight to Indy. No biggie and know if any time change I can get us on same flight. Kinda funny now but not happy once again with Delta CSR and online!

THANKS to disboards I did save money and paid $586 after vouchers....not bad!!!

Thanks for listening!!!

My story is almost similar to yours. Last night booking online ticket from Detroit to Orlando for next August. I was having problems with my skymiles being recognized. Talked with the online chat employees...wasn't too much help and was taking longer than I wanted to spend booking tickets online. Well after starting the online process all over again and putting my credit card information in the tickets went from $174 pp to $204:eek:

Called and spoke with a supervisor and got the standard scripted reply that the prices can change 'live' anytime....I explained to her there was a glitch in the online system...she gave me the corp. number.

To make a long story short, I didn't accept the answer that they couldn't change the airfare and finally after persisting that their online (IT) department was disfunctioning on the website they reduced my airfare to the original fare that I was purchasing originally.:woohoo:

WE have been watching airfare from MSP to MCO since April for travel Oct. 15 - 24--- YIKES!! All airlines were expensive ----
One night I found on Delta $420.00 round trip which was a lot higher than we had hoped to pay. The flight was a staight shot down - coming home there was a lay over in Detroit but both of the return legs were in 1st class. I put in all of the information for the 6 of us & clicked on 'continue' & a message came up that said the price has 'slightly' increased -- new price $1162.00 per ticket!! They call that slightly?? Anyway canceled that, when back to check the price & it still said $420.00 -- so, went through the whole booking process again & ended up getting the same increase message. Called our son who is travel with us to check his computer to see what he comes up with --- same $420.00 --- Called Delta & was told that the price can increase & that our computer hasn't caught up the the increase yet. Asked to talk to a supervisor & was told that the supervisor couldn't do anything -- did finally talk to one -- who told us that 'they' were having a problem & to try again online in 15 minutes & the price would work --- WRONG --- ended up calling back & talked to & was put on hold by a couple different people -- they finally booked out tickets for the $420.00 price --- oh, by the way.. we started the phone call at 9:15 p.m. & got off of the phone at 1:15 a.m.!!!!! Why- did we have to go through all of that!!!??? Frustrating!!!!

WOW! I heard from Delta within 12 hours of email complaint. Nicely worded apology and a $50 voucher. I stated that I wanted us to be put on same flight for the one leg of our flight for no cost. I said we lost $120 because of their customer service.

Seems like standard issue with booking online with Delta...increasing prices.

What a royal PITA! I am glad you got it sorted though.

I have to say that my experience with on-line booking with Delta was great. We are flying DTW to MCO in Oct, fares were posted at $175 (taxes inc) and that is what we paid. The whole process took around 15 minutes. The only problem I had was the first time it didn't accept my skymiles number, 2nd try it was fine.

Sorry for all of you who had a problem, hope next time it's a better experience.

2 weeks today and we will be checking in to the Caribe Royal - so excited:rotfl2:
