Delta - Main cabin

I know this is a question that is probably better suited for the transpiration board but the community board is my home so I thought I would try it here.

My question is for people who fly delta. I will be Delta in the main cabin for an overnight transatlantic flight. Will a pillow and blanket be provided? Is it on request? do they run out?

I don't want to lug travel pillows and blankets for all four of us if it ends up I can get one on the plane but I also know that if I only bring one for myself, I will end up giving it to DH or one of the kids (because I am a giver).
I just flew to Paris on Delta at the beginning of April. Yes, a pillow and blanket were provided. Have a safe trip and have fun!

Sorry. I have been MIA for a quite a while. Busy around here but a good busy so no complaints.

I know it has already been answered, but yes @china mom, a pillow and blanket are standard in all classes on transoceanic flights. Both will be in your seat on boarding. Rare, but it does happen, a fellow passenger becomes greedy and will take an extra pillow and blanket from someone else's seat. If you get to your seat and pillow/blanket is not there, let a flight attendant know ASAP and they will make sure you have one. Don't dilly dally, sometimes the extras are not boarded, and then it becomes a mystery mission to find the thief. Like I said, it is rare, but it happens.

Sounds like you are prepared with all the electronics and eye masks. 👍 Hopefully you will be able to get a little rest in.

Thank you so much. It will be a big space saver not too have to bring them.

We are kicking ourselves right now because we bought our tickets through Expedia and this weekend tgere was an fare drop and the price difference is $1709. Woulda, coulda, should but DH did not opt for Expedia price drop protection Oh well, we can't look back.

The pillows and blankets on flights are tiny and seats are so close that I had difficulty sleeping more than a quick nap on our 14 hour flights.

Kudos to anyone who can sleep, but I don't count on them.

Did you look to see if there was a price drop for C+ or FC?

Ouch! I don't know much about pricing through other websites, and I have no idea if Expedia has upgrade options, but @sam_gordon has a good idea to check to see if you could offset new lower price by upgrading? Never hurts to try.

When you see that you almost wish you didn't see it. Ignorance is bliss with occasions like this. 🙈 🙉 🙊

Before I thought to ask if I could upgrade, tge four seats together that were left sold. All that were left were singles all spread out. I think those might ve gone now too. I am such a rookie at this

That's like the rule we have when non revving. If you buy a seat in a pinch, don't go back and look at the flight loads, right?

Ha ha ha, 1000%! You can't look because it is just going to irk you.

Don't get me started on non revving. It is such a stressful gamble these days. But when you see your name on that cleared list, it truly does feel like you hit the jackpot! Especially if you are not in a middle seat.:cool1:

Cleared list? I don't rest until the cabin doors close 🤣.

I got a seat of a full flight and just before the doors closed the gate agent came on the plane looking for me. I was so sure that I was getting booted. It turned out that they only had a question about my ECV. Whew.

We decided against trying to ID90 for this trip because we have heard that June is one of the worst times to non-rev to Europe plus we are so out of practice. The last time we did it was years ago Zed fare. Too stressful for big trips. I'll stick to non rev on DH's home airline and just fork up the $$ for international.

We always buy when it is for a cruise. Can't play the non rev game when you need to be somewhere.

Finally used Zed for the first time last year to take dh to Manchester, UK to see her favorite band for her 16th birthday. Going we were stuck in coach in middle seats but just happy to get on (thankfully the men on both sides of us were not big guys and it wasn't bad at all.) Coming home we got first class! Only a few international airlines allow up front with Zed, but we got it with Virgin.

That is a win.

We flew non rev to Seattle and then Zed to Alaska on Alaska air and AK Air put is in business class on the way up - WIN!

I am still trying to learn ZED and ID90. DH is the employee and he has been very little help. But our cruise was booked through ID90 and I priced the same cruise out through the Disney site and we are paying a third. We are paying more to get to our cruise than the 7 day cruise is costing us.

DH said that there is a website, forum or some other type of way to ask employees of other airlines to look up flight loads for you?

sending you a PM

I always bring my own travel pillow, just feels better. I don't like the thin no cushion cabin pillow for my head/neck, very little support and it's not even comfortable when I'm watching movies. I usually use the cabin pillow for my back. So if you're picky like me, you definitely want to bring your own. The only time I didn't bring my own was when I flew Delta One.

For blanket, the main cabin one is also thinner, so if you often get cold, definitely bring a thicker cardigan or shawl. I have a Barefoot dreams cardigan I use exclusively for travel. It's nice to have something a little heavier and very soft when we travel in cattle class (economy 😂). Those little things can be very comforting while we are strapped in that 18 inches of space...:rolleyes1:laughing:
