Any chance you could get a better flight out of Louisville or something? You've probably already looked into that.
We had the opposite problem - we booked a direct flight from Baltimore to Orlando on Southwest, departing at 10:30 AM, and a direct return flight at 11:30 AM. They initially changed our departure flight to 8:30 AM, which wouldn't be a huge deal, except that Baltimore is an hour drive for us (and DC is even further), so for an 8:30 AM flight, on which we are checking bags, we would need to leave home at like 5:30 AM. I did manage to get that flight changed to 9:30 at least.
Worse is our return flight, which they changed from 11:30 to 9:50 meaning we will have to be up and out of the room by like 7:30 AM. I looked into changing that to a later flight, but the only decent one I could find had a layover and didn't get us into Baltimore until 7:15 PM. Normally that wouldn't be too bad, but that's on Mother's day, and my fiancée's grown children aren't coming with us, so she'd miss all of Mother's Day with them.
Airlines can be so aggravating.
