Delta changing time on early flights?

I have been checking different months for this coming year for their earliest non stop flights to MCO. I’ve noticed on flights departing at 7:15am have changed to 8:00am after it’s about a month away. We had already canceled one flight a couple months ago that departed at 7:15am and now departs at 8:00am. I’m beginning to think all their early flights will be changed as it gets closer.

Maybe they'll change the flight, maybe they won't. I get wanting to be there early and I get wanting the non stop. However, for me, that 45 minute change would mean 45 minutes more of sleep and I'd be ok with that.

Hey I would be glad if it changed to 45 minutes later 😂. My problem is the only other non stop flight is to late. I guess we could go with one that’s not non stop.

Any chance you could get a better flight out of Louisville or something? You've probably already looked into that.

We had the opposite problem - we booked a direct flight from Baltimore to Orlando on Southwest, departing at 10:30 AM, and a direct return flight at 11:30 AM. They initially changed our departure flight to 8:30 AM, which wouldn't be a huge deal, except that Baltimore is an hour drive for us (and DC is even further), so for an 8:30 AM flight, on which we are checking bags, we would need to leave home at like 5:30 AM. I did manage to get that flight changed to 9:30 at least.

Worse is our return flight, which they changed from 11:30 to 9:50 meaning we will have to be up and out of the room by like 7:30 AM. I looked into changing that to a later flight, but the only decent one I could find had a layover and didn't get us into Baltimore until 7:15 PM. Normally that wouldn't be too bad, but that's on Mother's day, and my fiancée's grown children aren't coming with us, so she'd miss all of Mother's Day with them.

Airlines can be so aggravating.

umm, yea. I get preferring a non stop, but some people seem to act like that's the ONLY way to fly and if there's a connection, it's the end of the world.

You and I both fly out of Cincinnati enough to know that direct flights are rare and you'll probably have to connect somewhere. But it's a lot better than the old days when CVG was a Delta hub, so flights out of there was super-expensive. I'll take a layover any day if it means I get to fly more.

That said, layovers are a PITA. Being older-than-dirt, I can't hustle through airports to make a tight connection. And if I'm fortunately to score a 2+ hour layover...well there's pretty much nothing to do except partake in expensive food and drink at airports' overpriced restaurants. $3 for a 16 oz bottle of Coke Zero? Ugh.

Sorry if you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and my blowing off steam upset you.
Yeah I’m not complaining about not getting the exact time. Just wondered if it has been a pattern for the early flight. I would rather leave a little later anyway. I may get a connecting flight.

I do have direct flights booked from CVG for our cruise in July. They're in the afternoon/evening, but the price was right and the times ok. The part I bolded is key to me.

Granted, I'll avoid layovers if possible, but it's really not the end of the world (to me) to have a layover. Between CVG, SDF (Louisville), and LEX (Lexington), which are the three airports within 90 minutes of me, connections are the rule rather than the exception.

Yeah the layover would be lunchtime lol.

Yes it’s aggravating. Louisville is to far from us. We are like in between Cincinnati and Columbus.

I'm wondering why a measly 45-minute change would have you contemplating changing to a non-direct flight? I mean...unless it's a big $ saver to do so, I prefer to avoid Atlanta, Chicago, and wherever else as much as I can.

We fly out of CVG often and Louisville is closer to us. You may also have a little luck with Lexington's airport.

Because I’m hoping it might change to later. We are going to have to get up super early for 7:15 flight. I keep thinking us getting to Disney super tired and our room not available lol. I know 45 minutes is not that much later. Just trying to decide which flight to book. Louisville is not closer for us. It’s an extra hour and half. Lexington is an extra hour and 18 minutes.

Other options:
* Dayton
* Columbus

Is leaving late the night before an option? It looks like the last non stop flight is ~4:30P, but there are flights leaving as late at 5:45P. This is just on Delta, other airlines might be able to give more options.
