I had purchased nonrefundable tickets with Delta. My mom probably won't be able to go due to a knee injury. Of course, I didn't get insurance. I see that Delta has a 150.00 fee change. Is this for the round trip or do they charge the fee for the flight going and another 150.00 for the return flight?

The $150 fee is for the RT ticket. Take note, Delta has waived the fee for me the one and only time I asked. My folks (2 people) booked on one flight that was a better time that I had our party of 6 already booked on. I called Delta and asked the question if they'd waive the change fee ($900 for our party of 6) and they did. Worth the try to call.....good luck.

It's $150 per ticket, so if it's a round-trip ticket, it's $150. She will have 1 year from the date the travel was supposed to begin to use the ticket. To use it, Delta will apply the value of the original ticket, MINUS $150 to whatever new trip she wants to take. If the new fare is higher, she will need to pay the difference in fare. Pretty easy to do - sorry she won't be able to travel!

It's 1 year from the original purchase date.

Ticket Validity
When a ticket is changed, our automated process will calculate the most cost-effective way of applying the tickets remaining value to your new itinerary.

For travel within North America, your ticket must be reissued and all travel completed within one year from the original date of issue.

For travel outside North America, your ticket is valid for one year. If travel was started, your ticket must be reissued and all travel must be completed within one year of the start date. If travel was not started, your ticket must be reissued and travel must begin within one year of the original date of issue.

I stand corrected. Seems like this hasn't always been the case, but maybe so? Kind of sucks for people who plan ahead and buy early, doesn't it?
